I'll surely be glad when the political season is over. elwing suggested that we leave the television off for the first half-hour of the evening, record the programs we want to watch and then fast forward through the plethora of political commercials. Even though Kentucky isn't a swing state Indiana is, and being on the border our local stations have been airing some presidential commercials. But more often we get to watch commercials for the senatorial race and two different congressional races (because some of the southwestern suburbs of the River City are in the 2nd district while the bulk of it is in the 3rd). And of course there's the Indiana gubernatorial race and their 9th district congressional race (for the third or fourth time it's the same two candidates thrashing it out).

We are getting way more Congressional ads than any Presidential ads.

I spent the night in Pa on my drive back from Tenn. Oh my goodness.

About equal here, mainly because of the proximity to NH. Nasty Senate race going on, with both sides busy comparing apples to oranges on their stances, e.g., state budgets vs. federal with regard to taxes, votes for or against certain issues without the context of the actual bill, etc.

My pet peeve is the automated phone call. When the BS spills out of the receiver, there's no one to rebut.

Usually because of being in the "tri-state area" I get tons of political ads. This time though they only ones I've seen are Obama's; no congressional or local ones at all.
