Bad book review

#1 Post by Beebs52 » Sat Oct 18, 2008 7:30 pm

Drop Dead Beautiful by Jackie Collins. It was $5 in a remainder bin. Totally excrutiatingly poorly written, hyperbolic dialogue, stick figure characters, just gunk and trash.

I loved it. It was a perfect book for when you don't want to think about anything of import at all.

Really, really bahd theatuh.

Embodiment of trash.

Most excellent for the 15 minutes it took to read.
Well, then

You had me at "Jackie Collins"...

Just like all her other books?

Yes! I love her. She's just totally low rent. It's awesome.

And it lasts longer than an Us Magazine!

Well, not much. But there aren't all those subscription inserts to pull out and throw away. So it's a draw.

Yeah. What slows me down with the Us is I have to stop and think, "Just who the hell ARE these people, anyway?", then I realize they're from "The Hills." Then I realize I don't give a shit and turn the page...

See, that's where it's useful. You can't do that with some of the people you have to deal with on a daily basis, so turning the page is a very useful catharsis.

Let's find earplugs that look like hearing aids. Then when we ignore people, we can pretend we're deaf AND they might even be nicer to us!

It's Annie's fault.

Annie says it's Evil Squirrel's fault.

Evil Squirrel says it's Lizbit's fault.

She blames me, but I am innocent, driven-snow-wise.

I can't afford to blame Rexer, though.
