Not my choice, but better than a majority, or a weak minority and no representation from Quebec or large Ontario cities. Most of stupid things written, including what I wrote this AM, all due to overinterpretation (commentators, and mine) of scanty poll data; Harper's rural Quebec cabinet ministers were -- unsurprisingly, to the real world -- never in trouble.

Vote will be interpreted in ways I will very much not like,I suspect.

I'm in a riding that was one of 2 in this area that never voted anything but Liberal. Well they did. A very good candidate went down in flames in one of the closest ridings in the country. I voted for her mainly because her oponent left a message on my phone that said "Your candidate is for abortion" I then deleted the rest of his message. I will never again vote for one issue. She was not for abortion - she is for choice. Big difference.

Very disappointing overall.

My candidate just barely lost, with the difference in votes being split to the Green and Independant.

It remains to be seen if Harper will pull his head out of his ass this time and actually try to lead the country, instead of compromising.

I thought Joe would stay with the Dodgers longer.

Mr Uly should not be completely twisting and turning with conflation of Tory and a surname.

As it turns out, while the term "Tory" is old British slang, and in fact at one time PM Harper wanted to rid his party of that term.....

There is a famous family of the bar (lawyers, not keeps or istas) in Toronto whose surname is Tory.
About as Italian as the Queen. I assume they did something to choose that name in the past.

The law firm was IIRC Tory, Tory and Tory. Now called "Torys" with a nice website www.torys.com
One of them. John Tory, entered politics.

He is now the leader of the Tory party in Ontario.
Tory led the Tories to defeat in the last election.
Tory will lead the Tories again in the next election. His opponent again will be Premier McGuinty, going for a third term. That family in Ottawa South has more McGuintys than Toronto has Torys. They also are all lawyers AFAIK. IMHO McGuinty will probably win again.

And Tory will have to quit the Tories and go back to Torys.

There was a new receptionist at the family law firm of Tucker, Tucker, Tucker and Tucker. Her first day at work happened to be one of the busiest they'd had in weeks. The phone rang constantly. All day long, she said "Good morning, Tucker, Tucker, Tucker and Tucker" or "Good afternoon, Tucker, Tucker, Tucker and Tucker." She dragged herself home at the end of the day.

Her husband asked her, "How was your day, honey?"

She said "Not so good.
