Zap is doing well, and getting into a routine.
The cats will now hang out in the same room with him. He will wait for them to be out of the way before he goes up the steps or moves down a hallway.
He has lost a little bit of weight, which troubles me. I am trying to entice him into eating by using wet food, but that has caused diarrhea and flatulence.
He is a sweetheart though. He spent the day at the Placentia Heritage Parade and Festival on Saturday and acquitted himself well. It seemed like every little girl in Placentia wanted to pet him, calling him a "horse" or a "chihuahua".

Must be the biggest chihuahua they've ever seen!

I don't get the chihuahua thing. A little boy on my block called him a chihuahua this morning, so it isn't limited to little girls.

Keep him away from Paris Hilton!

I dunno...I'd kind like to see her tote a Greyhound around in a purse.

I was handing out flyers at the Parade on Saturday for Emma's Band Fundraiser at Carl's Junior. It was amazing to me how many people wanted to talk about Zap and his history. They automatically knew that because he was a Greyhound he had to be a rescue.
Many people thanked for doing it, and I didn't quite know what to say, so I just said that my family is lucky to have him in our lives. He seems so grateful for every little thing and I think that it's making the girls appreciate what they have.

That movie just came out, so all dogs are "cheewowwahs" for the time being.

I forgot about the stupid Disney movie.
I hope that nobody expects him to dance, because he won't.

Movies mold what little kids think about dogs. A decade ago, I took Tigger to an outdoor music event. A toddler, who didn't look old enough to have more than a dozen words in her vocabulary, waddled up, stared at Tigger with delight, and squealed, "Dogmatian!"
