Thanksgiving dinner near-disaster

Coulda been worse.
My brother and his family arrived around 5:15 pm. We had drinks, and were settling in, when the power went out. We had just taken the turkey out, the veggies were cooked, the only thing not done was the gravy.
We hauled out the gas BBQ, turned on the side element, and made gravy
Lots of candles and we had a wonderful dinner.
Turns out that the entire south end of Vancouver Island had gone out, a main transformer had blown. Just as we were finishing up the pies, the lights came back on.
All in all, it was probably one of the best family dinners in a long time. The three kids, Big J and my two nieces butled and made sure that Grandma didn't do any work.
