Ciao from Roma

#1 Post by Im_Ace » Mon Oct 13, 2008 5:10 pm

Oldest daughter is studying abroad this semester in Rome.

With all the holidays this month, and with the wife turning 50 we decided to come pay a visit.... the other 5 of us.

Arrived on the 8th... spent the weekend in Venice.... back to Rome Sunday night. One more touring day and then I'm heading home, with the kids. THe wife was supposed to stay another week. But.... she's developed a bit of a cold and isn't feeling well. It's possible she'll return with us.

It's a beautiful.... FREAKIN' EXPENSIVE country. Kids have been great. Oldest daughter has finally adjusted here and is having a really good time. She's doing lots of traveling. I wish I had it so good when I was a kid.

Everyone here is pulling all their money out of the banks. It's bad.

Spent a lot of time visiting Jewish sites. Went to the Jewish Ghetto in Venice and in Rome. Went to Sukkot services at the Great Synagogue in Rome tonight. Learned lots and lots. Ate lots and lots of pizza and pasta.

Will need an enema on my return. :-)

Nice trip! :)

You get all the touristy stuff and you get to witness a run on the banks, too!
