We are quite the Sploofus group

#1 Post by gsabc » Mon Oct 13, 2008 2:04 pm

Currently, BBs have 6 of the top 10 TQOTD positions. The other four players range in level from 51.6 to 87.4, with an average of 70.0. Our six players range from level 3.8 to 15.8, with an average of 10.9.

We may be new, but we're good. Of course, when weyoun with his level 97+ checks in, he'll skew everything. We can reject him as an outlier. :)
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Wow. I usually play first thing in the morning, before other folks, so I expect to drop as the day goes on. Not so much this time.
I am about 25% sure of this.

Last month I was quite the Sploofuser. This month not so much. This morning I had the right answer checked then changed my mind. Argh.

Thanks for noticing. :D That was my fourth one (one of them being a "Who" and not a "Where"). In case you're wondering how I got it (or even if you aren't), I could tell immediately that the visible panels were from the Tres Riches Heures du Duc de Berry, that really famous medieval manuscript, so the rest was a snap. Luck and timing are huge factors with those things.

When I checked early this morning I was 433, which just may be an all time best for me. Just give me time to slide, it's coming. At that time, I know there were 5 or 6 bb's in the top ten.

I am at 127 but my standing is always jumping around--usually down...or is it up?

I had a feeling Weyoun would knock me out of the Top 10. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted!

Yesterday I was 42 and given my handle is frogman042 I thought that was a neat bit of synchronicity. Last month I did pretty good until near the end then I started to tank and this month not too bad either, but I suspect I'll be getting my clocked cleaned shortly.

Speaking of 42 positon and handle - in a newsreport regarding a former president I heard a bit of information and realized it made not a bad trivia question - so here goes.

Each president has a number, for example, Bill Clinton was president 42 and first elected in '92, so those two numbers are not the same - what president was elected in the year that would also mathc their number (excluding the 17, 18, 19 and 20 prefix) - so we are comparing their presidential number with the last 2 digits of the year that they were elected in.

If I did the figgering right, FDR should have been #32, and he was elected in 1932.

I'm still #9, but will almost certainly drop out of the top 10 by tonight. Played way too early this morning, went for speed and not accuracy, and forgot to read all the choices. Blew a question with 86.1% correct answering. So it goes.

Thirteen straight correct answers would get me $250,000 in another venue, as long as I stopped there. :D

Cal got the answer right.

It looks like the next time this would be possible would be 2052. The 52nd U.S. President could be elected in that year.

Under the current rules the latest the 48th President could be elected would be 2044. (that would be the 48th President's second election)
No matter where you go, there you are.
