Bittersweet win for the Phillies

Before the game, manager Charlie Manuel found out his 87 YO mother had passed away Friday morning.
After the game, centerfielder Shane Victorino found out his grandmother also passed away Friday morning.
I like Charlie. I like him a lot. I like the way he manages the ballclub. He may not be the best tactician -- as a former AL manager, it took him a while to get the hang of the double switch -- but his ballplayers adore him and want to break their butts for him.
It took some time but a lot of Phillies' fans, who didn't like Charlie at first (many of them really wanted Jim Leyland to replace Larry Bowa as manager), are coming around. I guess back-to-back NL East titles will do that.
