Saw a banner ad for HP computers via Windows Live Search Cashback system, which supposedly has 20% cash back this week only. My impression, after checking it all out, is that all purchases made at HP.com, if accessed through Live Search, will get you 20% back in cash (subject to the system's 60-day waiting period). Normally, it would be 5%. There are many other stores (read: websites) where you can also get cash back, usually anywhere from 1% - 10%.
Does anyone here use the Live Search Cashback? Is it true that all purchases qualify, or is it only certain items? We are definitely in the market for a new computer and like the HPs we've had. With a 20% cash rebate, we can get another computer that will last 8 years for considerably less money than we paid for the present one. I just don't want to find out that only certain items get the 20%.
We have something similar through our primary charge card. They offer extra points, equivalent to 1% each when you take the cash option at redemption time, for store sites accessed through their own website. I wondered if this was the same.
Thanks for any input.

I wonder if it's a scam run by Nigerians.
