Have many more wonderful birthdays! (When I visited my mom, I went to a birthday party for a woman who grew up in Hailifax. She was 106! Since you, too, are a vibrant Canadian woman, that tells me that you should be able to keep celebrating for, say, another half-century.)

Oops. The birthday list here says "Oct. 3," and now that I think about it, we already wished Ellen a happy birthday. I got an e-mail from the GC, which said the birthday was today.

Which is correct, Ellen? Are you trying to get two birthday celebrations every year? (Pretty good plan, if you ask me.)

BTW from a posting Mark made last week - I think this was a momentous one this year. Like half a century. Special wishes and welcome to the world of "damn - I can't be that old".
