Moratorium Lounging opening at 11 EST

#1 Post by christie1111 » Wed Oct 08, 2008 8:53 am

I considered Circus Food given the election season, but opted for the similarly poor nutrition of State Fair Food. If you have a local favorite, please bring some for everyone to share!

State Fair Food

Funnel Cakes

Fried Dough – with marinara and parmesan or powdered sugar

Caramel Corn

Blooming Onions With that really good horseradish dipping sauce

Curly Fries – Cheese and chili optional

Corn Dogs

Cheese Burgers

Loaded Baked Stuffed Potatoes

Sausage and Pepper Wedges

Candy and Caramel Apples

Deep Fried Items – Oreos, Snickers, Twinkies, you bring it, we will dip it in batter and deep fry it!

SnoCones

Cotton Candy

I could feel my arteries clogging just reading the list.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Mmmmmmmmmm....funnel cakes.......

I always smelled them at the ball games and kept forgetting to get one because the stand is located in the extreme right-field corner (maybe they're afraid the vat could explode so it's not near anything else...) so I made a point to get one at the beginning of a game, but I got tired of it after a few bites. All the kids, plus DC fell on it, but we didn't manage to finish it.

A little bit goes a looonnnggg way....

None of that is on my diet....

I'll take the pretzels and chips and salsa if I may.

Kay you could have a piece of caramel apple! That's not too bad.

Or we'll get you some of those fresh veggies - pre Tempura batter!

At the Big E they also had a booth that was selling fresh whole fruit and bottled water!

I'll haul in an oversized pan of humungous turkey legs. And some gyros from the food court at the Cotton Bowl.
Well, then

Everytime I hear funnel cakes, I think of that episode of Animaniacs where Pinky & the Brain put together that basketball team, and one of them is some piano player (Damn if I can remember who it was supposed to be though) who keeps singing "Funnel Cakes"....

God I loved that show.....

I loved Katie Kaboom...

It was Wakko, Yakko, and Dot..... :P

And nobody was funnier than Ms. Slappy Squirrel..... not even the Warner Brothers (And the Warner sister) at their best....

Kati Kaboom was my nickname for Ms. Knudsen back in the day. I even named an edition of the rankings that when her rerun first aired on GSN....

I stopped and picked up apple fritters at the cider mill on my way home, thanks to this! They were yummy too! I ate them in the car, they didn't even make it home!

I very much want a corn dog. Two.

With gallons of mustard. Yum<belch>yum.

Beebs is going this weekend to the State Fair of Texas, where they have the most magnificent corn dogs in the universe.

Never liked corn dogs. I'll take a German brat with sauerkraut and mustard, though.

That would be the Wisconsin state fair, not Texas.

I'll have to have ranch - that horseradish stuff puts bumps on my tongue.
