Yes, I rather thought it might, given your own avatar!

I do not know if it is real or not but supposedly it is. Indeed, the tradition, even requirement, in Scottish regiments, so I have been told, was to go commando. It used to be part of the inspection process to check. Not so anymore but the "tradition" seems to be holding...

The following picture on that page is even more amusing but perhaps not for those easily offended...

He seems very happy, and The Queen seems, umm, slightly aroused.

When Mel Gibson was giving interviews for "Braveheart", he said that the typical Scotsman's answer for the question "What do you wear under your kilt?" is "Your mother's lipstick!"

Snopes talks about the second picture here:

There might have been some enhancements.

It looks to me as if the unadorned photo is the one that's been altered. His leg is whiter there than the rest of his leg.

Snopes is always thorough.

I just had an epiphany... the same kind I had a couple years ago when someone mentioned what NE1410S's handle stood for and I had no idea the first three or four yeras on the Bored.....

When Pea called Tan the "No Free Lunch Guy", I wondered how she knew about Tan's logo in the BBBL.

Then it finally clicked what the "Tanstaafl" handle stood for....

There are times when I'll make a connection long before anyone else is able to, and then there are times like this when I can be utterly clueless for years and years until someone else unwittingly drops a hint....

Not hidden too well, I think. Just read it backward.

I've been clueless, too. I'm glad someone enlightened me.

OK, I feel realy stupid, I still don't get any of the handles meanings.

I think there was a thread once upon a time that explained everyone's handles, maybe back in 2000 or 2001; I don't suppose you've got a copy of that Beast?

Yeah, pretty much all the ones mentioned in this thread, I'm even starting to wonder about my own name.

BTW, someone needs to warn BiT about this thread, I wouldn't want him opening it up at work Monday morning without notice.
Who knows what fallout there could be for him (and us) at work.

tanstaafl has already been explained. That phrase is generally used when discussing economics/politics.

nitrah has also been explained, although that might not make much sense if you've never met him or been told his real name.

As for NE1410S being "Tennis Dude", pronounce each of these as a word and say it quickly:

N-E-1-4-10-S. 8)

The only explanation I've seen is that the meaning is in the name backwards. I'm guessing it doesn't make sense to me for the reasons you listed....
