If this has worked, it is a bit outdated....
In any case, in honor of one of this year's playoff baseball teams:
I wanted to show one of the beautiful observation cars from the Milwaukee Road (which is as toastified as the 2008 Brewers, I suppose)
The avatar is just the right size and loaded just as I wished. These beautiful cars from the Milwaukee Road were used on trains from Chicago to the west coast. Along with a bunch of other Milwaukee Road cars, Canadian National purchased them for a song in the late sixties, pursuing a mandate of inreased long-distance train service with dirt-cheap capital expenditure. They were scrapped in 1977, but one has been preserved. Thankfully. The fact that the tail end was not configured as an emergency door helped in the decision to scrap, as CN/Via did keep a lot of peculiar equipment running into the eighties. For example, the full-length mid-train dome cars originally from the Milwaukee Road, were a favorite on Edmonton-Vancouver leg of the Super Continental (renamed then as part of The Canadian), which I rode in Jan 1980.
