I have mentally accepted that we are rapidly transitioning to a centrally planned economy and that it is likely that most of us here will live to see shortages of toilet paper.

It is very calming since I decided to watch the bad parts of Atlas Shrugged happen before my eyes and accept and see them as such.

I really need to hurry up with several other books and so I can finally read Atlas Shrugged.

Tomorrow I need to run to Sam's and start stocking up on TP.

I'm fairly certain that most of my neighbor's are already stocked up on TP, but I could be wrong.

It's a good thing then that it's autumn and the leaves are falling. I'll just go outside and gather some up, I can live without TP for years...

As long as the chipmunks don't grab all of it to use as nesting material. We saw one the other day stuffing leaves into its mouth and stuffing its cheeks for all it was worth. It must have put five of them in there before heading to its burrow.

We, on the other hand, apparently want to use them around our other set of cheeks.

I think we have the toilet paper needs of this community covered for the next couple decades or so.....

Besides, who knows what we'll be wiping with in the future........

Why don't you ask the guy who took the picture of your chipmunk if he has one of GS's chipmunk....

I'm sure the chipmunk photography appreciation community is a pretty small one....

There are 3 things that happened in the last week that indicate to me that we are on an Argentina-like path.

Remember about 100 years ago-Argentina was basically on a par with us and essentially went in the Bad Gov't crapper since.

1)The addition of pork to the bail-out bill. Whatever steps got us to this point-adding pork to the bill just indicates our leaders have learned no lessons. Hey there were threats of martial law in the country and you are throwing pork into the bill like no tomorrow. And how do you sign that bill smiling?

2) The lack any meaningful self-examination (or contrition) by government of any role they may have played in the mess. It is all well and good to direct our ire at Wall Street-but the other side of that crisis equation is any government policies that may have played a role in causing the problem. I was not born yesterday-There is NO hope of any credible examination of those policies or meaningful changes being made.

3) Arnold showing up with his hand out shortly after for a 7 Billion subsidy. No concept that maybe the California Gov't could cut back a little. Michigan will probably next in line.

Also NE, I believe you are a retired public employee. It is likely that the next big Ponzi scheme to blow up is the whole public employee retirement system at all 3 levels of government.

Not a chance. Some of those retirees are former Senators and Representatives.

I know all about toilet paper shortages. I had three sisters who were incapable of replacing a roll when it was empty. And we stored the extras in the linen closet in the hall, so you had to holler for someone to bring you a roll if you got stranded.

I quickly learned "look before you sit." It serves me well at WDW....

Not GV paper towels, that's for sure!

(I'm now on my last roll! I might have to break down and start getting with the Kirklands.)

I just stocked up, whew...

36 big rolls of TP...the package tells me it's the equivalent of 72 regular rolls. I think I'm all set!! I had to break in my new BJ's membership, so it was TP, laundry detergent and cheap gas!
