It can't be a good sign for the McCain campaign if they're using the time of the Vice Presidential candidate in Omaha. I guess the second congressional district of Nebraska is in play. --Bob

Maybe she was just there to see the Univ Nebraska Omaha football team play today - based on the debate I'm guessing she'd like their teams.

Bob of of-so-many-numbers: Nope! From all indications, 2nd District still is solidly GOP country, or at least McCain-Palin country! I still have not seen the Omaha World-Herald do a poll, but I would be shocked if Obama could prevail in a city that is not doing as bad economically and that is a very religious community that is very Pro-Life. Plus, so not forget that Omaha's media market covers all of Western Iowa.

Tribe: You were close. Remember -- she's a hockey mom, and Alaska-Fairbanks plays in the CCHA with the UNO, so she indicated how much she enjoyed being in the same city as that team of Mavericks.

It was a very-energized and rollicking crowd for Palin. She really seemed to connect with a crowd of Nebraskans and Iowans, sharing their Midwestern values.

I will have to check tomorrow when I get to work, but I am wondering if Democrats (Obama campaign) violated federal law by campaigning on federal property. Palin gave her speech at the Civic Auditorium's Music Hall, which is across the street from the Zorinsky Federal Building, where I work. There were Obama supporters holding a rally outside of the Z Building.

Iowa's not in play -- Obama has it sewn up. If the campaign felt the need to spend a candidate's time in Omaha, then McCain's internals are showing Omaha to be in play. Either that or they're completely incompetent. --Bob

Don't forget that this is not just flyover country!

IIRC, Palin was flying from the West Coast, and mainly was stopping on the way to another campaign event elsewhere. This was an event that was scheduled in the middle of last night.

Whatever the reason that she came, I am glad that she did!

Appa, they live for that crap.

Bob was prolly plotting to the last second when he has going to post his revenge. Bwahahaha! It's prolly made him giddy like a little girl that he was right. And he prolly thinks that he's a real big man for not rubbing your nose in it more.

Heh.
