And it's about time. Obama's past is very shady and questionable, so I'm very glad that the McCain-Palin finally took the gloves off...

And this is verbatim from the article which Gov. Palin purports to have read:
A review of records of the schools project and interviews with a dozen people who know both men, suggest that Mr. Obama, 47, has played down his contacts with Mr. Ayers, 63. But the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers, whom he has called “somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8.”
I guess her definition of "palling around" is a bit more liberal than mine.

Palin cited a New York Times story published Saturday that detailed Obama's relationship with Ayers. In an interview with CBS News earlier in the week, Palin didn't name any newspapers or magazines that had shaped her view of the world.
What the heck is that comment about?
And of course the NY Times would find a disclaimer about the relationship between Ayers and Obama. Palin should be ashamed of herself quoting the NY TImes. It has become so unashamably biased it has made itself irrelevant.

McCarthyism has risen from the grave. These kind of vile, desperate tactics truly make me sick. And the fact that they may actually work on some people make me sicker.

Not to mention smart enough to realize that, if it didn't work for Hillary, it probably won't work for him, either.
But (before I step back into the Moratorium Lounge AGAIN (I really have to quit leaving there)) a quick correction: this isn't McCarthy-like. It's most definitely Rovian. And expect to see some mention of Chuck Keating soon. Then Wright. Then Cindy McCain's problems. Then....
oh, hell, who cares anymore.
There's just no respect or civility in politics anymore. On either side of the race.

I meant McCarthy-ish only in the whole 'guilt by association' thing.

Hon, crudites are NOT the way to eat low fat tasty vegies.
Take a pizza dough, cover with diced tomatoes (sorry KT), basil and a small amount of low fat mozzerella cheese and a dusting of garlic salt. Drissle with good quality olive oil. Bake until bubbly.
Yummy!

I gotta agree with Melly (whom I will finally see on my 42-incher (MY TV, YOU SICK #*%$S!) on Tuesday, when the latest M. Night Shymalan film is released on DVD/Blu-Ray). I like my veggies crunchy, cuz it makes me feel like I'm working off the minimal caloric contents of the veggies.
Throw in some low- or no-fat ranch, cut up some nice fresh carrots, multi-colored peppers, cauliflower, tomatoes, shrooms, and you got yourself a party in your mouth, baby.
There's nothing wrong with the pizza idea
per se, but I like it raw.

Daniel,
Ayers lives in the same neighborhood as Obama. When Obama was first running for office, Ayers hosted a meeting at his home to get to know the candidate. They are not friends.
This has already been investigated thoroughly in the Chicago papers. This is just old news being rehashed on a national scale.

I didn't say we couldn't trust the Chicago papers. I asked, should we just accepts their words. And if it is in fact just now being 'rehashed' nationaly, don't you think the rest of the country should be able to judge for themselves?

Of course they are going to say that they aren't friends now that Obama is running for President (Obama sure dropped Jeremiah Wright like a hot potato as soon as he saw it would hurt his election chances). And what about his dealings with Rezko and with vote-fraud organization ACORN? Obama's entire past needs to be put under scrutiny, and the mainstream press sure hasn't done it like they did with Palin's past. And since the press seems to working for the Obama campaign, it is up to the McCain campaign to bring these things up. McCain may have been trying to run an "honorable" campaign, but that hasn't worked since the playing field hasn't been level...

Sean Hannity has been pushing the Bill Ayers story on his TV show and radio show for two years straight. The American people have judged for themselves over the last two years... and the state-by-state polls show it. What Bill Ayers did when Barack Obama was 8 years old is a non-issue, as far as the majority of Americans are concerned.

I pointed out that Obama surely had a closer connection to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright than to Ayers — and so, I asked, if Ayers is a legitimate issue, what about Reverend Wright?
She didn’t hesitate: “To tell you the truth, Bill, I don’t know why that association isn’t discussed more, because those were appalling things that that pastor had said about our great country, and to have sat in the pews for 20 years and listened to that — with, I don’t know, a sense of condoning it, I guess, because he didn’t get up and leave — to me, that does say something about character.
