October QoD Thingie

Uly and I were going to conduct the QoD jointly this month. I think that he has some very clever stuff planned, probably to commence on Monday, and he will be presenting QoD questions Monday-Friday. I will handle weekends, beginning today.
For the weekend QoD questions, I will post a question on each Saturday and each Sunday, and each question will remain open until noon (Eastern Time) on the following Tuesday (to give people who might not be around on the weekend time to attend to it). The QoD questions will be closed book (i.e., no peeking at anyone else's answers, no Google, no outside sources allowed, etc.) This being a political season, with lots of talking and stuff about other countries and money, most of the questions will involve language and other countries and money.
In most instances, I will set up the questions with some very long-winded explanation of the theme and what you are supposed to do, and then, well, you do it. I think that there will usually be about ten questions, with one point for each correct answer (no penalties for incorrect answers, except insofar as not getting a point counts as a 'penalty'), and there will likely be a bonus point or two available, which will probably be explained in the long-winded explanation.
I hope that this will be fun.
