I'm not being facetious here this time around; someone I've known tangentially for years in a discussion group just posted to someone else
"I guess the funny part of that youtube video you recommended must
be in the visuals; as a blind person I didn't get it, so can you describe it
to me?".
I was absolutely floored. This person has recently been describing the
economic downturn their life has recently taken, & how its made it much
harder for them to do their life's work of field research into obscure
North American ballads as sung by the few people who grew up singing
them.
They also are the host of the list they're on.
At no previous time have they mentioned being blind.
