If the Cubs win the division series you'll get to see it at home! How great is that?!

I hope the Cubs' security guards will be on high alert to keep that ball-snagging doofus (whose name I refuse to remember) far away from Wrigley Field.

I assume that you're referring to Steve Bartman. I don't care one way or another about the Cubs, but I think you're being unfair to him. He reacted as almost any fan would react. Remember, at the time, the ball was over the stands, so it was fair game.

It's asking an awful lot of a non-athlete to realize that the ball's trajectory would take it back to the field of play and into the left fielder's waiting glove. It's even asking a lot of an athlete. How often do we see receivers deflect balls meant for teammates further down the field, or infielders deflect balls that a teammate was ready to gobble up for an easy out? --Bob

Maybe this will help you remember. He's closer than you think.

Of course, I'm unfair! Haven't you heard? I'm a Republican.

Aw, hell, I forgave you for that a long time ago. --Bob

I remember from the photographs that every other fan in his vicinity was going for the ball, too. I'm sure they later jumped in on the bashing, even though it could just as easily have been any of them. Where were the "true Cubs fans" to pull him away from the ball?

And since Moises Alou of the urine stained hands wasn't going to catch that ball anyway, it's completely irrelevant....

Don't believe him.... he would NOT have caught that ball.....

I thought the great news for Cub fans would be that because Bud Selig is worried about earthquakes in Los Angeles, the rest of this series will be played in Milwaukee.

This is only fair and reasonable...
