Jeff Jones, from Abilene, TX, who won $250K on a Movie Edition of SyndieBAM that aired in February 2007, will be participating in a Netflix Movie Marathon contest, "sealed in a plexiglass living room in the heart of New York's Times Square".

All you Where Else BBs ought to stroll by and knock on that plexiglass to keep him awake! :P

The article says it starts Thursday and is expected to run through Tuesday. So I think it is tomorrow.

Too bad, I'll be in California that whole time.

Jeff didn't win.

Last month we told you about the Netflix World Movie Watching Championships. The event began on October 2nd at 10:30am, and lasted until a new Guinness World Record, for most consecutive hours spent watching movies, was set five days later on October 7th.

Movie lovers Suresh Joachim and Claudia Wavra emerged as the winners of the Netflix Popcorn Bowl event after 123 hours and 10 minutes of continuous movie watching. Joachim is a Canadian of Sri Lankan descent, who holds 32 Guinness World Records. Mr. Joachim is an endurance champion whose records include television viewing (69 hours, 48 minutes), dancing (100 hours), radio dj-ing (120 hours), and ironing (55 hours, 5 minutes), among other disciplines. Wavra is a former three-time movie marathon record holder who lost the title to Ashish Sharma in June.
They mention Jeff as one of three other competitors, but don't bother to say how long they lasted.

According to an article I read earlier this week, the contest was down to the two final competitors at the 72-hour mark. That article added no other details.

I can't link it, because I don't remember where it was. Sorry.
