Godfather party

We had the in-laws over Saturday for our Godfather party. We watched the new Blu-ray set, and we all agreed that we had never seen the movies look so clear and sharp. We all saw things that we had never noticed before, and we've all seen the movies dozens of times. But we all ate way too much spaghetti during the evening...

What else have you seen in Blu-Ray?

We were looking at a Blu-Ray player the other day but don't know anyone who has one so we have no one to ask.

I've got a few movies on Blu-ray, but my favorite is "The Searchers." They did a wonderful restoration job on it, and the picture is spectacular on my 47 inch LCD. I also have No Country For Old Men, There Will Be Blood, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Chicken Little, Night at the Museum, The Prestige, The Departed, Blood Diamond, and a few others. I have been very pleased with the picture quality on every Blu-ray I've purchased with the exception of Total Recall. That one looks like a standard DVD when I watch it. I don't know if it just wasn't a good transfer or what...

The best deal on a Blu-ray player is a Sony PS3 game system for $399.99. That's $100 more than the Sony BDP-S350 player and you get a game system too.

I haven't bought too many disks, but just got L.A. Confidential which is superb! The Planet Earth series is also great in hi-def.
