1) Thank goodness
2) YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I will bring the white wine, because bizarre as it is, indian food is the one thing that I actually enjoy white wine with. Probably because it's cold and helps with the hotness.
Garlic naan is my favorite...load me up!!! Who wants to come and sit next to me???

If you do not mind I will bring leftovers for dessert.
We do "birthday" treats in our department and it was my turn to bring yesterday.
Cream puffs with your choice of vanilla or chocolate "real" whip cream. Strawberries and/or chocolate sauce optional.

No, just got caught in the pasting. I thought about having a fish dish.
Extra raita for the sharp eyed Marley!

Okay, fine. That sounded like a surprising ingredient to me.
But, dang, going home to my leftover Chinese takeout is going to be a let down!

Tonight's entertainment: Henny Frogman
Take McCain's wife ... please
McCain's doctor has just finished his annual check-up. "You're doing great the doctor says to McCain, you'll live to see 72", "But I am 72" replies McCain, "See... what did I tell you?"
At Barack Obama's checkup the doctor says to talk off all your clothes and stick you tongue out facing the window? Barack asks why he has to face the window. The doctor replies "I'm mad at my neighbor"
A bum comes up to Barack Obama, "Give me $10 till payday." Barack asked, "When's payday?" He said, "I don't know, you're the one who is working!"
What happens to you if you post political threads on a bored that is for game shows? Apparently nothing.
My wife asked me why I got home so late last night. I told her I was engrossed in a really interesting political thread on the bored that took up a lot of time. She said, so how long have you been seeing that floozy?
Politics on the bored is like a going outside at noon not knowing that a total eclipse was about to occur. They both let you think you will be enlightened but leave you more in the dark then before.
Enough politics already - feh. Enjoy some one liners from the master himself (as opposed to the basterdized and made up ones above):
A Jewish woman had 2 chickens. One got sick, so the woman made chicken soup out of the other one to help the sick one get well.
A man pulls up to the curb and asks the policeman, "Can I park here?" "No" says the cop. "What about all these other cars?" "They didn't ask!"
I know a man who is a diamond cutter. He mows the lawn at Yankee Stadium.

I honestly think I am going to have to get Indian tonight. Boyfriend and I are planning an evening in, and the menu has not been decided, so Indian take out might be the way to go. And from a real Indian restaurant, I've been faking it lately with the Whole Foods prepared section. It's good but it's not the same.

Miss Christie, may I please have some of that ground lamb without all the extra herbs and spices?
I just got back from my doctor appointment, a follow-up to my infection. Mr. Dr. David said he thought I was well, but he couldn't be sure yet. (They wanted me to make wetness in a paper dish for testing, but I wouldn't. I'm not that kind of uncivilized girl. I'd better not see my mom following me around the yard with a plastic cup, either!)
Anyway, it all made me very hungry.

Sweetie, you're even in the neighborhood! We should really meet in the middle on a trivia night and play.
When I cook fIndian from scratch I use Julie Sahni's 'Classic Indian Cooking'. It is a great book.
I have to admit, that when I make some of these, I sometimes use a little help from Pataks. And we have a local grocery store that has a WHOLE lot of great ingredients. The Indian friends I eat lunch with everyday shop there all the time. One of them, Priya, gave me a great recipe for a chick pea dish that is awesome. I'll have to find it and post it. But she even uses a short cut seasoning mix we can get at that store when she doesn't have time. And they have freshly made naan there everyday.
And I am typing with a henna hibiscus on my left hand that I got out our India Day celebration.
