I am not a partisan. I will have to work for the winner regardless and I will do the best job I can. But, this decided me...there is no way we can put someone who makes Dan Quayle look like a Mensa member one heartbeat away from a 72 year old cancer survivor.

I've been trying really hard not to think of Caitlyn Upton every time I hear Gov. Palin do one of these interviews... because I have a feeling that the comparison would be offensive to Ms. Upton.

I was embarrassed for her. I hope that the edit job was actually a hatchet job, otherwise, wtf?

Buff, you say you are not partisan but that statement is very partisan.
Come on.

I guess you see and hear what you want to see and hear. The five minutes I heard (I have no idea how much more there was, admittedly) was great.

From my email this morning:
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Sarah Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President. The old rancher said, "Well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle." Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was. The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle .You know she didn't get up there by herself, she doesn't belong up there, she doesn't know what to do while she is up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put her up there to begin with."

The description of a 'post turtle' is hysterical.
I do not imply that I feel Palin is or is not one as I don't want to post a political comment.
But I have met a few of these 'Peter Principle' type people and the image of the turtle sitting on top of a post is truly funny!
Back to the Lounge. Since we are having a catered lunch of Indian food from a really good local restaurant, I think the theme for Happy Hour may have a very fragrant twist!

Ummmm.
Buff made a judgement. Voters have to make judgements about candidates and Buff has made a very strong one here, but I don't see anything in his statement that is partisan, i.e., expressing the opinion of a particular party or issue group.

Yum! Lots of spice, please! Plus some raita for use as fire extinguisher.
I also liked the "post turtle" definition.

Yes, that's right but I made a judgement, too, and I view his statement as partisan.

My judgment is there is no "e" in the middle of judgment!

I didn't see much of the interview, but Sarah Palin looked and sounded fine in the small clip I watched. I did see her interview with Sean Hannity, and she was great there. And unlike Charlie Gibson, Sean actually let her talk...

I just realized, I am looking forward to them like looking forward to the end of a car chase, waiting for the collision and explosion to happen.
I am not proud of that.
