And the storm is strengthening just a bit.

Up to 110 mph winds and the pressure is dropping in the eye. Could still be a Cat 3 by landfall.

It does look like landfall will be on the east end of Galveston and that puts the path just east of a lot of Houston. That's good news.

I'm in an apartment on the 3rd floor of a 4 story building that should be OK through the storm so I'm staying here.

Things are fine here in downtown right now. We are still a few hours away from getting the bad stuff. We are having some gusty wind at this point but no rain and we still have power.

I'll post as things happen as long as I am able.

I had to laugh when I was watching TWC and I saw they had the low from Ike's future remnants parked right on top of St. Louis on Sunday.

That's what beastie gets for teasing me about living on the coast! :P :P :P :P
