I am sorry this happened to you.

I know you want this thief to be caught and made to pay for what they attempted to do to you.

Am I correct that nothing was done to you (other than hacking into your account)- that you did not pay for the computer and that PayPal did not either?

Call Oahu and ask for swampyturtles. Maybe she can get some butts kicked!

Okay, realistically, it may be time to go Federal because of the nature of the crime. Too many jurisdictions trying to pass the buck on you. I just wouldn't know where to start with that one, though.

Computer Fraud!

Maybe that is federal.

If you do a reverse address search on white pages.com it brings up Kenneth and Lynne Stuckey - 205-985-4504.

I was able to stop everything, but seriously I feel violated.

I would as well.

I would want whoever did it to be caught and spend time in jail and get whatever orifice they have filled with whatever makes them feel violated on a tri-daily (is that a word?) basis as well.

Find out who has jurisdiction. Make it happen.

Same thing happened to me when my debit card was "comprised" for over $8000!! The card wasn't stolen...it was in my wallet...but someone used it in North Carolina and charged that much in less than 24 hours.

The bank paid back all the amounts, but I had to fill out a form for every single charge that was made. The local police here would do nothing since the card wasn't stolen. The N.C. police would do nothing unless I physicaly went to NC to file a report.

I'm sick to death of these thieves getting away with stuff like this.

It is. The Secret Service has jurisdiction.

I'll bet you anything they're being paid to ship the computers to Nigeria.

I called the Hoover, AL PD, that's the juristiction of the address and they told me that they couldn't do anything because I needed to call the Placentia, PD.

This is why identity theft is allowed to proliferate, the police won't do anything!

I printed all of the documentation from my eBay account and went to the Placentia Police Department and filed a report. He said that he couldn't really do anything, but he would call the people in Hoover, AL and let them know that I filed a report.

OK, so the person who sold the computer is possibly somehow all tied into this? On the UPS label, it is a addressed to a person possibly not involved, but just used so that attention was not drawn to the whole transaction? Was a computer even bought, or was it just a way to scoot your money out of your account? Yeah, these are questions with answers that are probably obvious to others, but I was just a little confused.

This is awful, PSM. Feeling violated is a terrible feeling. :(

Paypal thought that the person selling the computer was somehow involved. That's what they told me this morning.

In going through my eBay messages, I have learned that the person who did this contacted about eight different people selling the same type of computer and asked them if they could ship it overnight.

The first person who said that they could, was the person that the money went to.

The UPS label is addressed to me, but with an address in Alabama. The person who lives at the address may or may not be involved. The Placentia Police said that many times the actual culprit will wait for the the UPS truck and say that the delivery is for them.

Would it be relevant to call the FBI because there was bank fraud and identity theft through state lines?

I am sorry for this.

Anything I can to do to help.

Very good point!

PSM, if you don't have a spyware scanner, please get Sunbelt's Vipre right now!
I have Norton 360.
Ironically, if you had that Mac, you wouldn't have to worry about any of that stuff.

Wow! So, it is already being shipped to this address, and yet the Hoover police department won't get involved? It is kind of ballsy for this person to put an actual address. I do hope that somehow this can be intercepted
