The State of Ohio has banned mass gatherings. Accordingly, ACBL has cancelled the Spring Nationals in Columbus. I believe ACBL would have acted earlier, but it was awaiting a government order so it could invoke force majeure clauses to avoid liability to the convention sites.
My local bridge club also has closed until further notice. --Bob

I didn't think that was particularly political but moved it.

Disneyland and Universal Studios are closing starting Saturday. I don't see why these parks but not the ones in Orlando.

My granddaughter Brittany is an administrative assistant for a German-owned company that makes pipes. She coordinates seminars and other meetings. Those have all been canceled. She was told to start working from home today. They're going to have her work on invoices. She's going to replace a temp who was doing that. I was worried about that.

In addition to the James Bond movie, the release dates of Mulan, A Quiet Place 2, Peter Rabbit 2, New Mutants, and Fast and Furious 9 have been moved back. FF9 won't be released until the summer of 2021.

The Masters, scheduled for April 9-12, has been postponed. No reschedule date has been set. The three PGA tournaments before that, including this week's Players Championship which finished its first round yesterday, have been cancelled.
The NASCAR race in Atlanta this weekend will go on but without any fans (usually draws 100,000 or so people).

New Mutants' release date has already been pushed back a zillion times. By the time it finally comes out, they'll be Old Mutants.

Mount Everest is closed: Coronavirus fears reach world's tallest peak as climbing permits halted
Even the world's tallest peak was no match for the spread of the new coronavirus as Nepal’s government announced Friday it was suspending climbing permits for Mount Everest.
With China already halting its permit program earlier this week, the more than 29,000-foot mountain that sits between Nepal and Tibet is effectively shuttered for the popular spring climbing season.
Surendra Thapa, an official with Nepal’s Department of Tourism, said the decision to shut down the climbing season was a precautionary measure as countries around the world combat the spread of the new virus that causes COVID-19.
"While canceling a climb is never an outcome we want, this time, it's the responsible thing to do. A COVID-19 outbreak at base camp would be dangerous and potentially devastating," Adrian Ballinger, CEO of Alpenglow Expeditions, which leads Everest climbing trips, said in a statement.

Somehow, I don't think I'd want to be climbing in rare air with a respiratory ailment of
any kind!

NASCAR has had a change of heart. They have postponed the Atlanta race, and the Homestead race for next weekend.
Silly question - I wonder how many of the cancellations (March Madness, etc.) came after the accountants and lawyers looked over the contracts and realized it was cheaper just to not have an event rather than play to empty arenas?
