I'll confirm that. I generally avoid titles where the single word LOVE by itself forms part of the answer, since it's nearly impossible to list 100 songs without having that word pop up more than once.

a couple of things before I go into a meeting.

1) We've got 79. BROWN +94. SUGAR but I cannot find a Rolling Stones song

2) We've got 49. IN THE NAVY – VILLAGE PEOPLE I cannot find a Barbra Streisand song.

3) We've got. 6. BOOGIE OOGIE OOGIE – A TASTE OF HONEY.

NOW, Frank could have used other songs with Boogie in the title to get Jungle Boogie.

Who recorded A Taste of Honey that we can use? All I can think of Herb Alpert and I do not see Tijuana, Taxi, Spanish or Flea among our titles.

And one more that I KNEW had to be hear because of the artist/song

73. DON'T MESS WITH + 19. BILL = 59. PLAYBOY (the Marvelettes)

They just played this on Music Choice and I realized it was our Jackson 5 song!

46. DANCING + 10. MACHINE = 68. ABC (Jackson 5)

16. THE WAY + 61. YOU MAKE ME FEEL = 93. BAD (Michael Jackson)

Now, this poses a problem with the Frank Sinatra match but we will sort it all out.

This bothers me because the Sinatra match is too good (Chicago is on the flip side of All the Way -- it's TOO GOOD).

So, there has to be another Michael Jackson song in here.

Is there a Simple Minds song on here, for 37. Alive n Kicking?

That had crossed my mind, but the"N" vs. "and" thing probably wouldn't work in a Tangredi game...

I'll bet someone's done a song called just "Alive", though...

The source I uses (The Billboard Book of Top 40 Hits) lists their name with 'and.' If that's an error -- and it appears to be -- I apologize.

Also, one of the matches suggested over the weekend is wrong because one of the song titles is not the actual title of the song.

All the Things She Said.

And we need to take the Eyes away. The song is Hooray for Hazel.

Freshening up the consolidation since it's easier to look at a current tote board...

I've quarantined the Sinatra match since the George Michael and Michael Jackson matches seem much more likely to be correct. We have 34 out of the needed 40 matches so far, and 11 songs unused.

Edited to remove the Sinatra and Bennett matches entirely.

I think it's fair to say that, in general, I won't use an artist like Tony Bennett or Frank Sinatra (or Lena Horne or Ella Fitzgerald) unless it's a song (such as I Left My Heart in San Francisco) that is unambiguously associated with that artist. Since so much of their repertoires are made up of standards, there are too many possibilities. I might have used A Taste of Honey for the Tijuana Brass - in fact, I tried - because they had the best-known, most successful version.

As for Sinatra, the actual title of the "Chicago" song is My Kind of Town.

Everything else is correct.

I've quarantined the Sinatra match since the George Michael and Michael Jackson matches seem much more likely to be correct. We have 35 out of the needed 40 matches so far, and 11 songs unused. Interestingly enough, the Tony Bennett match used three songs that had already been used previously...

I'm not sure either jarnon or I MEANT My Kind of Town.

In my case, I was thinking Chicago (that toddling town), which is on the flip side of the 45 for All the Way. The Joker's wild = a TLAF legacy.

But, that falls into the "standards" category stipulated above.

Frank knows a hell of a lot more about music than me, but this one time I'm right. These are clearly different songs.

Both the BROWN and SUGAR songs are still unused, yet like melly, I don't see a corresponding Stones song in the artists. I would also imagine the Village People song goes with Barbra Streisand, but I'm not familiar enough with her work to pick out the matching song. There also can't be many songs with either the word "double" or "vision" in them, and I'm pretty sure "Foreigner" was not the name of a song...

The only "Double" I can think of is Elvis' Double Trouble.

As soon as I sent it.

Vision of Love, Mariah Carey. Her first big song, IIRC.

And that gives us our Honey match.

40. VISION + 68. OF LOVE = 6. HONEY (Mariah Carey)
