It makes sense that this would be someone in From Here to Eternity and I actually guessed this. Burt Lancaster was in a circus act with Nick Cravat and I looked up Cravat's filmography. Sure enough, he played the gremlin in the Twilight Zone episode with William Shatner in the plane.
So, this is Burt Lancaster who matches with Ava Gardner through Frank Sinatra.
