1) I always thought Rafferbee was a male.
2) The guy she went against(and whom she still may defeat)-probably could not have had a more favorable board for his wheelhouse than when he went against her. A lot of "High Culture" categories that seemed to play right to his strengths. I did cringe a little when Raffer chose Art as one of her "2 Strike" choices. Sitting at home, It was pretty obvious that that would be a strength of his.
3) For the most part, I really like the format of the show. WWTBAM broke my heart-but this one doesn't have the harsh "One and Done" that WWTBAM has. I detest the questions where they have to list 5 of 10 or whatever. It is so hard to keep track of what was said and so forth.
4) It does seem a bit favored to the main player-but that is OK, it is their show and a long run might attract interest. One way I thought of to create more tension and engage the challenger would be to alternate category choices between the 2 of them.
5) A pool should be started to see how long until "Celebrity 500 Questions" is on the air.
6) I absolutely love that the guy was wearing a "Blue Shirt".

The Frisco Taphouse and Brewery must be the world's most brightly lit pub quiz. The ones I attend are like playing in a cave, which tends to make any visual handouts especially challenging, but dim lights are what I'd normally expect in a bar at night.

Its really nice! I prefer it to where we were at The Greene Turtle, which was always a scramble to find a table and dark. This would be a good tweak.
Another could be that if the follower wins a certain number of battles (maybe 3?), he/she unseats the main contestant.

Tonight 500Q goes up against the return of Are YOu Smarter than a 5th Grader on FOX at 8PM EST. 5th Grader will probably ask 11 questions in the whole hour, as Buzzerblog's Twitter page thinks. Thursday night from 8-10PM is the series one 500Q finale, which will be going up against the National SPelling Bee televised finals on ESPN.

Due to the predicted icky weather (which didn't happen) I stayed home from trivia and watched the show. It was exciting. I actually knew many of the answers. I was disappointed to see Steve go.
He got $110K for his efforts, which isn't bad.

He denied Megan a cyberial cigar for getting into the champions' spot. We'll see tomorrow night if the new champion gives former J! college champ Pam Mueller a cyberial cigar and lets her in the champions' spot

I don't know what it says about me, but it never registered with me what the loaded meaning behind that phrase Zach uses was until this thread.
I'm hoping it just says I was unobservant and didn't notice the pattern that he only says it about female contestant/champions.

On Jboard they delete unliked posts like some of Zach's and don't let that "Cy" word in a post by anyone. On Game SHow FOrum he was banned nine years ago for a post not about cyberial cigars, but something else PG-rated. Zach also, outside of all his silliness, takes care of an aging relative who is 59 and holding(Zach is 45), and is trying to keep his behavior at work together so she doesn't have to go back to work a couple of days a week to pay for things like cable TV and her dog.

BackInTex loves the bizarre. Especially when folks, out of the blue, start referring to themselves in the third person. It makes BiT wonder if an admin hijacked their ID. He is suspicious that way.
