Ha! I didn't even notice that it wasn't an N. If it's on the laptop and I'm not wearing readers, there isn't a lot of difference in M and N. I'm sure I just read the words and automatically put an N at the beginning.

But you are correct, I take my colloquialisms seriously! For all intensive purposes, anyway.....

On Jay Leno on Wednesday night he actually mentioed squirrels on a plane in his monologue. I found ti hysterical. I wonder if his monologues end up on YouTube?

I thought he was funny when I watched the show religiously for about the first 6 years after he took over for Johnny. I haven't got to see it much in the last decade, but when I do, I always hope for the Headlines segment. My favorite late night bit ever, even moreso than Dave's Top 10 list (It was his Viewer Mail segments every Friday that got me to tune in back in his NBC days). I guess holding a bunch of goofy newspaper clipping up doesn't require any comedic talent though.....

Here's the whole show: http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/vid ... eps-module

You should hope for a calendar. He does Headlines on Monday nights...

I know that's what he used to do..... though when I was off on Tuesday night a few weeks ago and watched it, he did Headlines that night.... and it was not a repeat episode. So I figured he mixed it up at some point.....

AFAIK, he still usually says "It's Monday Night, time for Headlines."

Maybe they bumped the ones you saw from Monday because they had a new idea for once...

I figured Fanny would pick up this one, because we both live in the kind of namby-pamby world where proper spelling and use of colloquial expressions is important(, you jackwagon).

It sure sounds like an M sound to me when I hear it......

It does to me too.

It's on right now . . .

I saw it over the weekend and paid particular attention to that part. He does say "mamby," but that doesn't make it correct...

I see several transcript and political threads (My two favorite **YAWN** types of threads to gloss right over) and as you mentioned, a large number of posts by the two posters on this Bored who challenge War & Peace almost every time they hit "reply". While it's still unlikely I failed to see any of those examples above, it's very likely not to have been something I'd have ever noticed enough to pay attention to..... especially since the ones I had the best chance of actually reading all occurred well before the commercial that put the term on the map for me.....

As Fanny will tell you though, I do enjoy being enlightened on things I never knew before....... thanks!
