Not necessarily. It all depends on how the producers bill him. If they just refer to him as a soccer dad or a government worker, that doesn't tell you a whole lot.MarleysGh0st wrote:But you'd be another serious game show MAWG who would be shunned by all the other contestants, in the first place!

By naming his kids Maximillian and Leonardo, he seems like a pseudo-intellectual, in my initial impression

One of the things that you learn in law school is how to properly phrase a question so that it is asking what you want to know.MarleysGh0st wrote:Appa23 wrote:The answer to your question is no.MarleysGh0st wrote: Your Honor, would you please instruct the witness to answer the question?
Very well, then. You have my apology, and the red herring about states of mind was unnecessary.

Maybe people didn't realize it was on. I didn't know that it would be on until I saw a commercial during "The View," while baking, yesterday.thguy65 wrote:On theovernight ratings report, Duel edged out Clash of the Choirs, but both were viewed less than reruns on CBS and FOX.

I agree with Marley. I think that people will underestimate the hick used car salesman.

Yes. I pieced and appliqued it, and then another lady machine quilted it for me. I really HATE to do applique, as my satin stitching is lousy. It's for my nephew who loves KU Basketball.christie1111 wrote:Did you make your avatar?ksbirchtree wrote:I think it moved way too slow. Is it quilted?

I see here that they all tied with a 5.0, but FOX had more total viewers.thguy65 wrote:On theovernight ratings report, Duel edged out Clash of the Choirs, but both were viewed less than reruns on CBS and FOX.
Like everyone says, I like it, but a little slow. Worth trying out for though if possible.

Well, I was wrong about that in detail, but not in spirit. He just used his photographic memory to memorize the encyclopedia in 4th grade. Sadly, they found a number of questions that weren't answered in that.

Well I missed the whole thing so far - the DVR was supposed to record the series, but it didn't even pick up the first night. But it did pick up an episode of NCIS that was supposed to be new but turned out to be a rerun. I think I'll be calling tech support this evening.MarleysGh0st wrote:The pacing didn't improve much on day 2. Grrrrrr.

I thought the pace picked up quite a bit last night (I only saw the last half hour Monday). The practice of going to a break before answering a question is cruel. And what's with the pen the host always has in his hand? I thought he was going to stick it in his mouth a couple of times.MarleysGh0st wrote:The pacing didn't improve much on day 2. It might seem to be a faster pace, because some of the matches were over quicker. And, thankfully, even the host doesn't see any point in dragging out the answer when both contestants have covered all four choices.

I'm not really paying any attention to the host, except for keeping up my chant, "Get on with it!"Rexer25 wrote:And what's with the pen the host always has in his hand? I thought he was going to stick it in his mouth a couple of times.

TIVO is the only way to watch this thing. My wife and I watched it last night - she's not usually into game shows but she got into some of the strategy aspects. But I could not imagine watching without being able to fast-forward through the commercials - the game itself is way too drawn out.
I do like Mike G as a host - last night at least he did cause a couple of chuckles and for the most part did what he could to keep things moving. I do like to listen to Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN - it would be fun if both Mikes were hosting Duel.

I taped it last night and didn't know it went longer than 60 minutes -annoyed me.
I thought the pace was faster - I didn't use the FF button much.
I also thought the questions were easier than the first night.... I know if you know it, you know it.
How can someone married to a Jew not know how many nights there are in Hanukkah? really?!?
The "girl power" thing made me snicker.
Anyone know if tonight is 90 minutes as well?

We used Tivo as well. I don't have the patience to sit through all of the hoaxy cliffhangers and needless exposition.trevor_macfee wrote:TIVO is the only way to watch this thing.
