Q3. Put these children from the TV show Family Ties in order of their births, starting with the oldest.

1. Andrew
2. Mallory
3. Alex
4. Jennifer
Spoiler
Not a big Family Ties watcher. I went 4321 as I think one of the sisters is older and one is younger than Alex, but Jennifer is the next youngest child after Andrew. I am not really sure and Wikipedia is not giving me anything. Only thing I knew for sure is Andrew is the youngest. There is a question in this thread about the Keatons and how many kids they have, but not the same as this one.
editing to add
Spoiler
I did not read Wikipedia carefully enough. It says the show states Alex was born in 1965, Mallory in 1967, Jennifer in 1972, and Andrew later.

I'll post my questions tomorrow, I'm so pissed off. I got to the second question, and it was one mentioned upthread about placing novels in geographical order (Sarah, Plain and Tall/Tess of D'urbervilles/Zorba the Greek/Anna Karenina), I enter the answer that I knew and had seen on this thread and...no happy Fred....no sad Fred....just silence. I watch the clock on my phone tick away, tick tick tick, waiting for something, ANYTHING, I check the speaker on my phone, everything is fine, until I hear that wretched sound that you hear when you accidentally leave your phone off the hook. I have no clue what happened, and I am so royally pissed off cuz I was FEELING it tonight.

(sigh) I'm honestly not optimistic about tomorrow.

This just isn't my summer.

OTC Friday for an August 3 tape date.

In addition to being lucky to survive an educated guess on Question 4, I suspect I came close to timing out on Question 5. I had a lot of trouble reading my writing well enough to remember the order in which they gave Victoria and Elizabeth I, and once I'd deciphered that, I had to think a moment to place Marie and Victoria in the correct order. Still, I'm as delighted as everyone else to be OTC. I'd really have kicked myself if I hadn't made it because on Day 1 I really had a gettable Question 5. --Bob

So, I can do the FF really well while playing along with the old reruns, but doing it on the phone- writing it down/figuring the order, and getting it punched in on time- has just not been working for me. I can't even read most of what I'd written. I'm just adding some ridiculously simple ones that I'm sure I got right. The rest of mine haven't been worth adding, since I wouldn't be sure if I'd be giving correct/complete info, and most are already on this thread anyway. For those not swimming yet, here's a few more -- sorry if there are any duplications.

Hope to see at least a few more of us break through to OTC today! Good luck, us!! 8)

Not sure I'd agree with that statement. Rayon is made from natural polymers, while nylon is made from synthetic ones, but I've not heard that nylon had to be made from petroleum. I'm not even familiar with a process in which nylon CAN be made from petroleum.

If one is using a gas-powered leaf blower to blow leaves, that would be louder than a vacuum. Good luck tonight. You are definitely due for your Happy Fred stack.

Ahhh....I didn't think of that. Perhaps that WAS the question "A leaf blower", not "Blowing leaves". Even an electric leaf blower is louder than a vacuum cleaner.

FWIW, I had this question the other night, and the choice was "Rustling leaves". My question, however, I think also called for loudest to softest. I punched in rocket/jack/vacuum/leaves and got it right.

If it makes you feel any better, which it won't, by test-playing on thread Qs I screwed this up too; 1st of all, Wizard came out pre WWII but "didn't get enough audience" so so help me they rereleased it in the 50s. I went around for years thinking it was a 50s movie, even though a no-longer-very-young Judy Garland died a few years later. I couldn't put 2 + 2 together.

Yeah, fairly weak argument on my part I guess. Still, the American pronunciations of the two sound fairly distinct.
I had that question, and was trying to remember who the other artist was. It was Mary Cassatt. And while I would pronounce the second syllable in her last name like "Picasso," Fred did not.

What Bob#'s said. Keep in mind the show will be on in some form until 2012 ( I think that is when the contract runs out). There will be other opportunities if you choose to seize them (is it too late to send in a video? If not, this door is not completely closed yet). Don't lose faith in the dream.
