Yes, it's my all-time high series, breaking the record of 583 I shot on March 2, 1996. I only had four opens all night.... unfortunately, two of them came in the 10th frame of the first two games. One was an uncalled for chop. Any one of those ends up a mark, and I probably get my long-coveted 600 series. Oh well....

Congrats on the strong outing!

Fittingly, today's J! had a category all about bowling.

I have never heard of either of those last two terms, though I get plenty of 5-7 and 5-10 splits. Had two tonight, picked one of them, the 5-8-10.... is that a Walgreens spare? Of course, my sister had to outdo me.... she picked the 7-9 legit (knocking the 9 straight into the 7, no rebound off the back). Never seen that before.... wasn't even sure it was possible without a wild hook...

Congrats on the 591!

And sliding the 9 into the 7 was pretty tricky!

Beast's Log is closed until further notice. My bowling alley was bought out today out of the blue, and likely is not coming back. I gotta go retrieve all of my stuff out of my locker tomorrow morning....

Wow!

And you had no inkling this was going to happen?

If someone bought it, do you think they aren't going to use it as a bowling alley again?

I guess it is lucky that they let you back in to get your stuff.

There were rumors the place was going to close down for years, because of dwindling interest in bowling and chronic mismanagement (My league dropped four whole teams from 10-11 to 11-12, and a lot of it was continuing aggravation over lane conditions).... but this was kind of a sudden shock the way it happened. Not sure yet who bought them out, but there their neighbor is a short track speedway that has supposedly long been trying to buy them out... I guess for additional parking.

72 hours notice to get your shit or lose it, so my guess is by this time next week, it may not even be there. Someone wants it empty nownownownow.....

Beast's Log returns from its temporary hiatus after one alley closed and another took us in for the remainder of our league, but now on Wednesday nights. I think we have 3 or 4 more weeks, and with my sudden strong rebound, that disaster week from early June may not have wrecked my quest to end the season with a 170 average....

Yay for only a brief break!

Hopefully it isn't that far away.

I bet you will quickly get used to the new lanes. Maybe you should go on a non-league day and practice there.

Just catching up on this thread….sorry LB, but log threads are just, well, boring, if you know what I mean.

Keep up the good work.

The penultimate edition. Next week is the last, likely in the history of the Log, and it will be an anti-climactic "bowl-ahead", as I'm going to the ballgame that night....

- Douglas Adams (1952 - 2001)
