1 Barbotte - she told me that she had 3606, but I couldn't locate her.
0 Nellunatic1980 - he's buried so deep I haven't found him in the haystack
0 Kayrharris - told me not to bother this month, as she is spending all her time with Bret Michaels & Tommy Lee
0 Gsabc - probably hasn't started out of the gate yet with the wedding looming
Oops. I didn't have 3606; I was in 3606th place. Now I'm in 4139th place and have 3,842 points.

Ooh, I saw gsabc while I was looking for myself. He had over 5,000 points.

Could you add "Ggossage" to the standings? He isn't a boardie, but he is my dad, and I enjoy the rivalry, even if he has been besting me lately.

OK, well that clears that up. I thought that name looked familiar.

I had a question last night that had no correct answer among the choices. I looked up sources and wrote to Sploofus about the question and included links that supported my claim. It will be interesting to see what they do, if anything.

No, it was about the world's largest drum.

Not Perdue's?

Purdue doesn't have the world's largest drum.

Nepal is celebrating after the historic peace accord between the government and rebel Maoists that ends 11 years of civil war. Different programs were held across the country including rallies. Friday's programme in the capital Kathmandu was a continuation of the celebrations, but it had significant value.

A gigantic drum, dubbed the world peace drum, was beaten to send peace messages across the world. Thousands of spectators enjoyed the beating with the hope that peace will prevail in this land forever.

Organizers claimed this drum as world's largest drum. According to Japanese drummer Hiromi Ishioka, coordinator of the world peace drum construction, the Guinness Book of World Records has recognized him as the maker of the world's largest drum.

In a press conference held some five months ago in Kathmandu, he claimed that he will break his own record by making another super large drum.

That's interesting. When the creator of this one makes an even larger drum, this one can be converted easily into the world's largest spool of thread.

The problem with questions about "biggest", "longest", etc. is that they can become outdated. Sploofus seems to have over a million in their database. They can't keep updating those.

Funny, to me, it looks like a spool of cable, like college students use for a coffee table.

That un would need a big living room.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

Right. Purdue claims to have the World's Largest Drum but it almost certainly is not. However, no one has come along to make us stop saying it so we continue to do so. Texas also makes this claim and theirs isn't any bigger than ours.

For a long time Guinness said it was some prop drum on the stage at Disney World. I thought that was a complete rip-off.

This drum in Nepal looks like a winner to me.

I had my one brief shining moment atop the leaderboard but I blew it this morning. Didn't know the answer and wasn't able to guess it.

Oh, well, this month is still going better than July. Let's hope it stays that way.

The Perdue/Purdue thing once lead me to understand how many porn sites were at the University. I typed in the 'e' version into Google. I would like to think it was a student but still! There were links that pointed to just about every possible variation I ever imagined. At least the extension seemed to display the suggestions of these things. I wasn't about to click on any of them! But I admit that the Rock of Love (or whatever one that was) also opened my eyes!

I was trying to report a Perude chicken truck for cuting me off on I-95 while driving a mini-van with a child in it. The phone call to Purdue was treated extremely well. Apparently they take safety very seriously and took down alot of information. They also said the driver gets called in person to person. They don't handle those types of complaints with a phone call.

Whether it is true or not, I felt good with the resolution.

And a bit concerned with the students of Purdue!
