I can't figure out for the life of me why anyone would want to watch this one, other than the good acting/writing the reviews all say it has. I don't have cable, so can't check, but lessee:
Show set in 60s; OK, that's been done. It was actually done in the 60s, as well as later.
Show that highlights the smarminess of 60s sexism. Gee, I lived through the smarminess of 60s sexism, as well as 50s, 70s, 80s, 90s & 2000s. A lot of the movies & TV shows shot in that era highlight it as well, they just weren't doing it self-consciously, but its there alright.
I've watched at least 17-1/2 British dramas about the awfulness of trying to fit into the faculty of a snotty British university. In at least one of them, perfect-wifey kills self because, it turns out, she's just not that into being perfect-wifey & doesn't check out any other alternative, few though they were at the time. I don't know that I'd have the patience to watch all the polite backstabbing that went on in those dramas if they aired again these days; I know I haven't the patience to watch impolite backstabbing by American advertising men.
You all have fun watching, now. With my luck, I'll finally get on & there'll be BAM Qs based on it. Like with the Housewives show.
