I guess the GOP is really pushing the envelope, since McCain contacted me to run.

You mean McCain is gonna pick Jeb's son George P. Bush?
If P is to serve anywhere, it shouldn't be in Washington but in Iraq or Afghanistan.
That'll happen only if there's a draft. But even then, George Pee would probably still find a way to evade it just like his uncle and his uncle's predecessor did.

I have a serious question for you, Nelly. If a draft were instituted tomorrow -- or the day after the election of the next Democratic president -- would you apply for an exemption on the basis of being a clergyman?

I just had this thought:

Wonder what it would be like to be a lurker who is, actually is, one of those two guys in those avatars.

Better yet - someone comes on and says they are one of those guys.

What do we do?

I am cracking myself up today.

It does seem to push the MM limits; other MM are either fictitious characters or very public characters. These two are (I presume) real but obscure private citizens, with their real photos being used as avatars. It is not unreasonable to imagine that they (or a friend or relative) would google their own names some day and find these posts.

Where's the shop steward from Local 1326?

Hmmmm. Okaaay.

Interesting how many other boards/blogs allow Google's spiders to crawl through their material. Post just one thing in some out of the way place and others can find it.

But still...

I think it was decided early on to block Google bots to stem the tide of spammers. When we first moved here, the Bored did show up on Google. After a couple weeks in, no more Google hits showed up....

Speaking of approving messages....

Does anybody else find it highlarious that lately on the political adverts they've changed the "I'm a Bodily Orifice and I approve this message" thing at the end?

Now they have to add on some frills and dressings to get in another plug and/or jab:

"I'm an Idiot and I approve this message because the other guy is a Dumbass and we don't need anymore dumbasses in our government and you'd certainly be better off with an Idiot than a Dumbass."

Where's the shop steward from Local 1326?

This is like Al Capone telling J Edgar Hoover how to run the FBI.

The MMs in question - One is a published author, educator, religious scholar and translator. The other is an NCAA coach. These are less high profile than someone who ran for governor of Illinois 15 years ago? Steve Bartman? A Royals middle infielder? If they or their relatives read the posts, they too will be amused.

One other point, How many post under their name here, or elsewhere?

On the Google front, the bots can't burrow in here but they can see us from the outside. Search WWTBAM and there we sit, at #5.
