Spoiler
Is it wrong of me to have been hoping that you'd only be a one-and-done-er like myself?
Of course, I knew you wouldn't be, having had the pleasure (and at times, not so much) of being on the receiving end of games like this against you in VJ!
So now that you've got me (and tons of others) beat in the win column, I'm just gonna have to hope you keep kickin' booty, like you have for the past two nights. It's a pleasure to watch, Dave...keep up the good work!

Whatever happened to VJ? I played a few games late last year and was assigned to play against two opponents in a massive tournament, then the last thing I heard was that there were technical issues, or personal problems that rendered VJ inoperable, at least temporarily. Did they ever get back up and running?KillerTomato wrote:having had the pleasure (and at times, not so much) of being on the receiving end of games like this against you in VJ!
Go Dave! You already beat my two and done performance in 1989. Now if they would just put me in the JArchive, I could die happy. (But I can wait a few decades.)

Well, Dave, I confess I was worried at first; you didn't build a big lead early. But when you went for the TDD (based on your blog, "nations" was a strong category for you) and got it, I figured it was all good. But Brian put on a good run at the end and I thought he might catch you. FJ! seemed like a pretty easy question compared to the one yesterday. Looking forward to more from you this evening!

Mike Dupee has been revamping it. He started rewriting it but got caught up in his real life, so it still isn't finished. He swears it will get up and running again, but I fear it may be a while before that happens.

Looking forward to it. But before you go, I have to ask if you felt a little embarrassed that you were outbuzzed on a Bible question (in the "noses" category).trevor_macfee wrote:Busy morning. There were two clues I regretted being outbuzzed on: That one (the correct response was Psalms) I felt was mine because I'm a pastor, and the Pink Floyd clue, because I have always been a fan of Pink Floyd (until Roger Waters left, anyway) and because I thought it would've been unexpected for a pastor to get it.earendel wrote:Looking forward to it. FWIW I'm an ordained (non-practicing) Baptist minister and I knew the Pink Floyd answer; though I'm not sure my buzzer skill is anywhere comparable to yours (or Brian's).trevor_macfee wrote:There were two clues I regretted being outbuzzed on: That one (the correct response was Psalms) I felt was mine because I'm a pastor, and the Pink Floyd clue, because I have always been a fan of Pink Floyd (until Roger Waters left, anyway) and because I thought it would've been unexpected for a pastor to get it.earendel wrote:Looking forward to it. Ear, just remember that good J! Buzzing is a learned skill. Just like the old Carnegie Hall joke, practice practice practice!

I don't think anyone would be familiar with those universities. Bataan was definitely the TOM for that question, as they say on the J! board. The only way I got Philippines out of that clue was the one word "Bataan" in the midst of everything else. I'd never heard of those universities.

Day 3 and still going strong! Congrats and Wow! BTW, do you ever feel guilty about those you defeat? Some of the players have been really strong as well and could easily be a champion - it would be nice if there was some runner-up tourny for those who perform well against a champion to give them a second shot.
