Gift cards are nice.

It's really impersonal, but I swear this year that I am going to the Grocery Store on December 1st and buy nothing but gift cards as gifts for the holidays.

I dislike gift cards. Really, really dislike them.

I also have people on my list who just want gift cards, so that is what I give.

I think they are impersonal, show no relationship or imagination.

Anyway, I now have 5 gifts to shop for and send

Best gift my boys received upon graduation, hands down:

Tool kits. My boss gave each of the boys one - very simple, not a pre-filled one, just one of those plastic ones along with a few basics, hammer, screwdriver, nails, brads and screws. You could pink it up for a girl. For the college-bound, my other favorite gift to give is a wastebasket filled with college essentials (pencils, post-it notes, blank cd's Ramen noodles, etc) Happy shopping!

Great ideas. I do try to do something for those going away to college and needing most everything.

My son, being the only boy in the family, had his own toolbox started when he was about three. He would get a new tool for various occasions and had a nice set when he was old enough to use them. :)

I used the Susan G. Komen stamps for my stuff. I think I had to put on extra cents than I needed but I thought it was for a good reason. Maybe you could sell that to them?

Will the post office hand stamp that many? I'm not sure how many are invited. It wouldn't be very pretty looking, but maybe it would be nice and generic.

I like the create-a-stamp suggestions, if it didn't break the bank.
