Another example of Democrat voter outreach in action.

https://twitter.com/MattWalshBlog/statu ... 6370728960

It will take a blind man (cough, cough BobJ) to deny that these protesters are in the diner's face.

Oh, but that is right-we don't know what side they are on. They could be right-wingers in action performing some sort of false flag .
So did she say something to piss them off or was she just sitting there?
In other words, the bitch was asking for it.
So you're saying you know she said something offensive?

It depends on what she said. If she tossed around the N-word or something similar, that's an invitation to a verbal confrontation.

Just to get back to a main point in the thread.

These are Maoist type Struggle Sessions being perpetrated on random (most likely liberal) diners at urban outdoor dining areas.

By all means, assume the worst of the random diner who is being confronted by a massive crowd of assholes doing a 2020 version of a Maoist Struggle Session..

Bad behavior exists on all sides. Check my post earlier in this thread about the jerks who trolled Raphael Warnock's virtual town hall by shouting the N-word and posting porn. Or the large number of Karens who call the police on black people for being within eyesight of them.

Again, it all boils down to, in your view: 1 harrassed diner confronted by Maoist assholes = I black man permanently paralyzed after being shot in the back seven times by police in front of his children. Although from the way you're carrying on, you may believe that the harrassed diner may represent a greater danger to the public good than the man gunned down by police.

And it's a bit easier to assume the worst when the only words you can clearly hear in the entire exchange are "white supremacy."

It's hard to take outrage over this incident seriously from people who didn't express a word of outrage over Charlottesville. From people who willingly defend turning federal troops on peaceful protestors as long as the person giving the orders ran with an R next to his name. --Bob

I am not the one drawing the equivalency. Somehow, your side gets from.....

1) Anger at the Cops

2) ?????????

3) Performing Maoist Struggle Sessions on (most likely liberal) diners in urban centers.

I am a little fuzzy on how you get from Step 1 to Step 3.

He places himself as someone who would be a leader of the Maoist Struggle Sessions. I heard she said this etc etc.

Does anybody have any doubt that given the opportunity, he would be an enthusiastic leader of the Maoist Struggle Session mobs?

And again, I'm not trying to justify their actions. Yet, your continued harping on them is yet another attempt to distract from the far more serious issue of police gunning down an unarmed black man.

This is what has been going on for the last two nights at the Republican Convention and will undoubtedly continue. Just ignore all that Trump has done about the coronavirus and all the other problems the country faces and imagine what it would be like if a small number of idiots ran the country.

Democrats don't have to speculate aloud about what would happen if the Proud Boys or Boogaloo Boys ran the country. There's plenty of examples of what's actually going on right now.

And since you like literary allusions, here's one from 1984 that's quite fitting right now:
The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.
Just add the word Republican before Party.

Here's someone who, unlike Spock, doesn't feel that diners not enjoying their meals is the greatest threat that America currently faces. Also, unlike Spock, she has considerably more expertise on the subject than listening to Mark Steyn and reading website articles about Chairman Mao.

Given that the main topic of this thread is the 2020 version of Maoist Struggle Sessions, I fail to see what some random lady endorsing Biden or trashing Trump or whatever has to do with anything. I think in the past that you guys have even called such distractions "Whataboutism."

Anyway, getting back to the main topic.

Personally, I find it very troubling that large mobs of people are feeling free to perform the 2020 version of Maoist Struggle Sessions on random strangers. I don't think this trend ends in a very good place.

Where do you think it leads? Where do you think it ends?

Leaving out your Maoist rhetoric, what you really find troubling is that a group of jerks are pestering diners. You want to equate that with some sort of Maoist propaganda sessions. You continue to avoid the question of whether you feel this problem is more serious than cops gunning down black people in the back or armed vigilantes shooting strangers on the street.

Because that's what this boils down to: annoying nuisance on the one hand and cold blooded murder on the other.

And from the way you've carried on, you apparently feel that upsetting diners is the major problem facing this country. That's a rather inane attempt at distraction. If you actually believe it, it's a pathetic example of self-delusion.

She's not "some random lady." She voted for Donny. She served in his Administration as Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism and Threat Prevention in the Department of Homeland Security.

She's endorsing Vice President Biden because, having seen from the inside the effect of Donny's words, she's concluded that he's the one making the country more dangerous by riling up the gun-toting crazies.

Such as by giving a national platform to two rifle-toting wannabe vigilantes (who are under indictment) the day before another rifle-toting wannabe vigilante kills two people and wounds a third.

The issue is Donny's claim that he can make the country safer. The evidence is that he has made it much more dangerous. --Bob

Once again, you are being very obtuse. I am not discussing cold blooded murder in this thread. You will note that the thread title has to do with a "Big City Amenity." It is focused on factors related to that. Urban liberals continually congratulate themselves on urban amenities including their restaurants and outdoor dining opportunities.

Nobody wants to be subjected to a Maoist Struggle Session when they are in town for a big night.

This trend is just one of the factors that will make it less likely for people to choose an urban restaurant for a big night.

I would guess that the biggest reason people aren't likely to choose an urban restaurant for a big night right now is fear of the coronavirus. The fear of being brainwashed into supporting Chairman Mao (who, if you weren't aware, has been dead for over 40 years) is probably very low on the list.

It's always fascinating how, with all the problems we have in this country, you choose to fixate on one small thing that you can blame on leftists and then invent some grand Maoist scheme that seems to exist only in your mind that you can tie this all into.

But if you want to play your game and limit this discussion to the enjoyment of meals in a restaurant, I must have missed your concern about how black people trying to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee at restaurants have had the police called on them by fellow patrons or employees for all sorts of bogus reasons. Is your concern only for white patrons hassled by liberals or does it extend to black patrons hassled by various racists and bigots? And would you venture a guess as to which occurs more often and has for years?

But if you want to play your game and limit this discussion to the enjoyment of meals in a restaurant, I must have missed your concern about how black people trying to enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee at restaurants have had the police called on them by fellow patrons or employees for all sorts of bogus reasons. Is your concern only for white patrons hassled by liberals or does it extend to black patrons hassled by various racists and bigots? And would you venture a guess as to which occurs more often and has for years?
What happened last night in Minneapolis is another reason people will increasingly avoid city centers and so forth. Imagine you are downtown last night for a nice 25th anniversary supper and you get caught in rioting/looting that breaks out over something as ridiculous as a murder suspect shooting himself as police approach.

Many will increasingly choose not to take the downtown/urban center risk and will choose a nice restaurant, say, on Lake Minnetonka (30 miles out or so).

I'm sure the events in Kenosha had nothing to do with what happened in Minneapolis.

Are you old enough to remember this?

The same things go on today. The only difference is that we can record them on smart phones instead of press cameras.
