Our intention is never to lie to you.
And the hits just keep on coming. That's the money quote from today's press briefing from Sean Spicer. That has to rank right up there with "I am not a crook" and "I did not have sex with that woman." The difference is that Trump's only been President for four days, and he (and his staff) are averaging almost one prize quote a day.

I think Spicer cut loose with another demonstrably false statement today. I read the statement and it was certainly demonstrably false, but I can no longer find the reference and I don't want to look for a transcript of the news conference right now. I'm not referring to the claim, contradicted by the White House's own video, that Don was greeted at the CIA by a five-minute standing ovation. My memory is of something more substantive. --Bob

The impartial observers say that the only people who were giving Trump any ovation were his entourage.

Trump is still making the absurd claim that there were millions of illegal votes cast in the election and that he would have won the popular vote without them. In 2000 it did not bother George W. Bush one bit that he did not win the popular vote, but it is driving Trump crazy (crazier?). The man has more issues than Reader's Digest.

But not more than the left. The left is who brought up the popular vote, the numbers at the inauguration, and the massive loss of women's rights less than 24 hours after he was sworn in.

It keeps getting better and better. This may get lost in the shuffle over the Mexican President telling Trump where to stick his wall, but this is potentially more serious. Four senior State Department officials, including the #2 person at the department have all resigned (or were fired according to some reports). Two others departed earlier this month.

This is not the usual house cleaning of political appointees that goes on when one administration succeeds another. These are all career officials who served (and in some cases were appointed by Bush as well as by Democratic Presidents) under multiple previous Presidents. Considering the complete lack of experience that both Trump [correcting my earlier mention of Bush here] and Rex Tillerson have, there are few people with any expertise in the areas of security, management, and administration, and the nuts and bolts of running overseas embassies.

But since we all know that Trump is smarter than these people and any others who might also leave, I'm sure this is just another minor road bump along the way to making America great again.

It keeps getting better and better.
Directly from your hands on the keyboard, this shows exactly where your priorities are.

Much like when Hillary goofed and actually said what she thinks (and what REALLY lost her the election), that anyone who doesn't agree with her is a 'deplorable' and an irredeemable (whatever -ist and -phobe she could think of). She divulged the secret democrat narrative so that there was no doubt. Not that we didn't know already. That's the democrat counter-argument for everything. She just verified it.

My priorities are in trying to make sure that people know just what sort of person Trump is, both from a moral standpoint and one of competence and how he has people like you carrying his water every step of the way, trying to explain, excuse, shift the blame, and come up with false moral equivalencies between Trump and the Clintons.

Many, if not most of these people only feigned rationality when things were going their way.

So you're predicting Trump's term will last only 3 years? And then what happens? Will he die, resign, or be impeached? I hope you're right. Unless the world ends in 3 years. That would suck.

You'll probably be dead if that happens, and therefore it won't suck at all...you won't feel anything about it.
