How often do Bill Maher, BiT, and I all agree on one subject?

There is and I didn't. It was a close paraphrase, but I didn't use the precise words of my source. --Bob

How often are you and Bill Maher both right on a particular subject?

True, very true. Maher is wrong about so many things....

Ahmed has met President Obama, the president of Sudan (where his family is from), and Jordanian and Turkish leaders. He's been accepted by a prestigious school in Qatar.

Well good for him.

You fail to see, or accept, the obvious. My only solace is that I have immediate family in only 2 of 100,000 public schools in the U.S. The chances of one of those being the one that gets bombed are slim. But one somewhere in the U.S. will. Within 5 years. And it will be a student that delivers the device. And someone will have seen it before hand. But they said nothing. <<<<<<

This could have been a really bad school bombing/murder plot. A Waseca resident reported suspicious behavior by a teen involving a storage unit.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I assume the "Zero Tolerance" thing was brought up. It is stupid to treat this case in isolation-without "Zero Tolerance" context. As we live in a world where a 6 YO gets in trouble for pointing a chicken finger at a classmate-a suspicious looking case certainly merits examination.

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Ahmed's father ran against the Butcher in the last Sudanese presidential election. He did it from the safety of Texas, and it sounds like the kind of campaign that an ex-governor of Virginia might run. Still, if the Butcher wanted to meet Ahmed, it would be prudent not to refuse.

Why? If the Butcher wanted to meet him, Mohammed should have said "Sure, come to Dallas."

Perhaps they are both cut from the same cloth.
