I have no idea what y'all are talking about, but my comments were directed to the fact that if I published a book after countless years of hard work and dedication, and the first feedback I got from someone about that book was that he noticed a couple nitpicky typos in the book, I'd probably punch that fucker right in the nose. Looking for and correcting typos is for the editing process, which I'd assume since the book is now live was some time ago. Vandal is a much better man than I am to put up with such a tactless comment from a tactless person.....

Folks, let's please take a step back and breathe.

My thinking is: if you buy the book you can say anything you want about it. If someone says in a review that he found typos in the text and that took away from his enjoyment of the book, that's a perfectly valid statement. Some readers may find plot holes, implausible circumstances, paper-thin characters, too much swearing, not enough swearing, bad ending, etc.

If you are inclined to leave a review on Amazon, B&N or Goodreads, that would be greatly appreciated. Good or bad, it matters not to me (although the director of promos may put it to good use).

Where did you get Archelaus Perkins from though?! That's the name of one of my 6th great-grandfathers. He fought in the Revolutionary War then was sheriff of Goochland Co., Virginia. When he retired he drove by himself from there to Missouri to live with one of his daughters.

Back when I was writing this I asked BBs to supply some "old" names or links to names and I used the ones that sounded right. I know I used some from suitguy, nitrah, BiT and PSM. Sounds like one of yours made it through, too. Thanks. Great name.

My paperback copy of Center Point arrived in the mail today, and it looks pretty sharp. I'm 3/5 of the way through Light in August by some guy named Faulkner right now, and I'll start Center Point as soon as I finish that.

It's probably not a good idea to read Faulkner while trying to write a novel yourself since I wind up feeling like most of what I write is amateurish crap. But oh well...

I finished the Faulkner book last night and started Center Point this morning. I'm into Chapter Two. It's flowing nicely so far...

I'm 70 pages into the book, and I'm enjoying the writing. The prose flows nicely, and the dialogue doesn't sound too "on-the-nose." But I'm having trouble really getting caught up in the story, and I think it's because I read the author's note at the beginning of the book about Komaket and Komagansett being fictional and not based on any Native American names or legends. I think the story might have been better served by putting that author's note at the end of the book. Suspension of disbelief would have been better achieved and the illusion of being in the world of Dennis Kozma more easily attained.

Just my two cents' worth.

I read through Chapter 10 this morning. So far, that has been the best chapter in the book. I really felt for Dennis and his predicament.

I don't have much time to read now that I'm working days and actually working instead of watching lights blink while I read books using my Kindle app, so I am able to read just two or three chapters of The Center Point per night.
