The schools are so much better in Chicago than in Dallas. The property taxes in Dallas are higher and they spend more money per pupil but the education is not as good. The high school kids in Dallas take 8 classes, but only meet each class every other day for 1.5 hours. They allow the kids to re take a test for each class every 6 weeks so the kids don't study as hard. The counselors are a joke. I emailed my daughter's counselor to ask if Color Guard counted for her PE credit since the online catalog didn't say. So the counselor emails me back with the reply "Does it?" I email to say I didn't understand her and she emails back saying no. My daughter went to the teacher of Color Guard who says yes it is PE credit. The school district did away with finals for high school, too much pressure. So this week is movie week for the kids.
