Yes, I agree. Its the second post that got this ball rolling, not from me.

That would seem to take it back to me, but I'm officially mystified. I can't add anything.

So, let's see if I've got this right.....

You sign up (again), start creating new threads to which nobody pays attention and then, when someone finally does does you a solid and replies, you argue with them based on nothing but inanities until you finally get painted into a corner and then you announce that you're jumping ship because it's all too ridiculous for your delicate constitution?

Lets try this again. I signed up again because I could not even remember my user name or password (I already addressed that).

"start creating new threads to which nobody pays attention" >>> I have no issue with that, so what?

"you argue with them" >>> I have not argued with anyone, can you copy/paste where I did that, thanks.

'Argue'? (lol) If anything, I'm walking AWAY from arguing, I have no interest and no time for a pi**ing contest.

"because it's all too ridiculous for your delicate constitution?" >>> 'Ridiculous'? Not even close, I have no idea what you are talking about. I have no interest in going back and fourth......smell, no smell, touch, wet etc.

If you want to continue on with the thread, have a blast.

I think I understand what you mean, but I think you phrased the question incorrectly to get the answer you're looking for. I think the blind DO have dreams, but what I think you're asking is if they can see things in their dreams and if they look like what they really look like, or if they look like what that person PERCEIVES them to look like, having never seen them.

I've always wondered if what I see to be a certain color is what others see as that color. We all see something that we call "blue" or "yellow," but is my idea of blue the same as yours? We can never sort that out.

Judging from your reply, you haven't been here long enough to get the joke or you haven't read enough posts. I'm not sure if you read any posts other than the ones you initiate, so that was somewhat of an assumption on my part.

Or maybe you're not familiar with spoiler bars? If you click on the black bar at the bottom of my post, you'll see more text underneath....

I have never heard anybody put it in such perfect terms, usually when I tell people this they are either puzzled and befuddled. This has bothered me for as long as I can remember and whenever I try to think about it I freak out.

I have such a disturbed brain. It's quite a battle sometimes to keep it from thinking too much and it ends up winning way too often for my liking....

I tend to think a word over and over until it justs sounds weird. Like "purple". After a while, it sounds alien.

And yay for the return of T&T!!!! I've been watching the early news after Idol on Wednesdays and I'm actually becoming informed.

Oh, I lie. Unless you count being informed as to how little actually happens around here to fill an hourlong newscast...

By the way, not every statement or observation, or even the majority of them, is an accusation. I do not consider the word "argue" to be a pejorative...

The worst word for me is "duty". BITD, I could not read the weekly memo about the duty judge schedule without screaming. So I'd try to ignore the word duty and then "bench" would start bugging me....

I started a thread about The Return of T&T!!! If you haven't read it, it looks like Pretty Woman Paisley is this season's protagonist and we have managed to lure BeBe into our fold.....

I had seen the thread, so that's how I knew it was returning. I just had a whole weekend full of baseball and server errors so I hadn't replied. It's sad that Boo Boo Honey Chile's mom makes Paisley's mom seem like a responsible parent...

Short replies here, since I'm at work. shhhhh. The screen jumps up and down.
Anyway, my dreams are beyond vivid usually, including technicolor everything, detailed conversations, touch, smell, sounds, etc.
It would be hard to "imagine" someone else's dreaming process since it's a subjective thing to begin with, so that's what makes me sorry for people, most whom I talk to, who don't have colorful et al dreams. Or don't dream at all.
Well, then

Well, men and women certainly see colors differently, as is obvious when you let men dress themselves.

Part of the problem is that men (unlike women) know that there are only eight colors, these being the colors in an 8-pack Crayola box (red, blue, green, yellow, purple, black, brown and orange). ‘Sand’ is not a color, it is a piece of quartz; ‘fawn’ is not a color, it is venison-on-the-hoof; and I don’t think that there actually is a ‘taupe.’

On the subject of dreams (to keep these mutterings on topic), one of the things that stunned me years ago was finding out that most people do not dream in color. I can understand, um, blind people not dreaming in color, but it never occurred to me that sighted people or even poorly-sighted people would not dream in color. Maybe that’s why people were content with black-and-white TV for so long?

I have also been surprised to find that I am somewhat unusual in being able to fly in my dreams (apparently most manly men such as myself do not, flight is apparently much more common for women folk than us men folk). My flying is usually more floating around to get from place to place, but it is there, not that there is anything wrong with that.

And I have smelled apple pies in my dreams, albeit only freshly-baked pies. With lots of cinnamon.
Innocent, naive and whimsical. And somewhat footloose and fancy-free.

Beebs, if you are in IE there is a button next to the URL bar that looks like a page torn in half with the refresh button to the right. Click on that and it puts you into compatability mode. The jumping should stop. Or not.

I sometimes wonder that too-but then I chuckle and think of how many "Herbal Enhanced" conversations have probably taken place on that subject.

Thanks, Christie, for the tip!

And to maybe reply to the original post and to Mr. Winter's post and others' posts and...stop me now.

Anyway, I would imagine even a deaf and blind person would have some sort of wonderful dreams, only because, not only based on what physical stimulus they're given, their own souls and minds are capable of generating...stuff. We have no idea, really, how the mind and heart work, so I would hope they have all sorts of crazy-ass operations going on in there to compensate for the external lack. I truly believe they do.

Also, I've had flying/jumping over dreams since I can remember from the age of 4 or so. Usually they involved avoiding a neighborhood Spitz dog or heat registers that were out to get me. Now, I find myself on the edges of inclines, mountains, ledges, whatever, and where, in the past, I would start to fly and then maybe descend and wake up, now I accomplish my mission of getting to wherever I need to get. That is totally psychological. My flying isn't something that is recreational at all, which ticks me off. I would love to just fly and have fun in my dreams.

Also, I remember one half of one dream I've had in my life that was half in color, half in black and white. Really.

And, that being underwater thing, oh yeah. I usually know I'm dreaming in my dream then and just get on with it. I also have lots of coming upon a vast expanse of lake, ocean, frozen pond, flooded roads and realizing, well shit.

But, then there are the ones with sparkling cerulean water that I figure, eh, if I'm gonna drown or something, it's all beautiful.

Ramble much, me?
Well, then

Now that we've cleared that up, I've been wondering -- can the dreamers have blinds?

I actually had a course title "Visual Perception" at UC Irvine BitD. I asked the instructor this very question once. He went on for about half an hour about how it has been proven to be true, but, once he was done, we students all looked at each other and said "Huh?" We weren't even sure he understood the question...

I love going to bed......and not just because I'm tired, but because I never know what wonderful, exciting adventure I'm going to have before I get up. I'm always equally glad when I wake up because it means I survived skiing down Kilamanjaro and have also survived pulling skiers across the water behind, not my boat,.......but my truck. It's amphibious, you know.

But the one thing I do in my dreams that no one else has mentioned is that I read books. And I remember what I read. Which means that my little beanie brain either composed or remembered the text of a whole book.......Holy batshit! And someone else thinks it's a stretch to smell apple pie??
