fixed it for you
Spoiler
Jurors are often most effective in the justice system before they are ever even selected to be on a jury.....
Edited to add a thank you for your service a a juror.

I tied up 14 good citizens this week to listen to a case I tried to a verdict. Imagine being required at threat of contempt of court to listen to me for 3 days.

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Give the guy the chair. But you can't deny that soda is bad for you in so many ways!!! :P :P :P

(Speaking of chairs, Mini-me keeps ending up with uniform #9. He wants single-digit odd numbers, but he's so tall now the lowest he can get in a large is #9...)

I used to get so pissed off when we'd get our little league uniforms each year, and there was never a #13 to pick from. I even went with my Dad when he ordered the unis one of the years he managed the team, and since there were 13 players on the team, I said the shorts should be numbered 1-13.....

Nope, we got 1-12 and a 20.....

I pouted and took #12....

Ben always takes 13. He is the former coach's son. Current coach has a son who gets 1 or 2--he's little.

9 used to belong to the twin of #8, but he needs XL now, so he gets 14. His dad still calls him 9 which confuses everyone, but habits die hard...
Knowing a great deal is not the same as being smart; intelligence is not information alone but also judgment, the manner in which information is collected and used.

Glad to hear WeezyJr. gave y'all a break and threw in the towel! :) I was on call for jury duty this summer, and had to check in by phone the night before for reporting instructions. Every night for a week I was told by the recording, 'thanx but no thanx- call back tomorrow nite,' until the last nite when it said 'you're off the hook, doll." I really wouldn't mind jury duty, so it's a bit ironic...
