I mean, it now is known as "The Tiki Theory" rather than "The Ewing Theory."

(There also is the Shockey Corollary)
What are those?

Okay, football fans, brace yourself.

I know who this is only because he appeared as a "project" and guest judge on Project Runway.

Just out of curiousity, how much did you have to bet to make $1,000?

The best screenwriter in the world couldn't have written a better Super Bowl Script for all of us Ole Miss folks. The only person happier than me is my mother. She keeps a signed, 8"by10" photo of Eli on the mantle of her fireplace.

Oddly enough, I didn't just jump on the Giants bandwagon. Back when I was in first grade (1963), the Giants drafted a different quarterback (Glynn Griffin) out of Ole Miss as the heir apparant to Yelverton Albert Tittle. From then on, I was a Giants fan thru and thru. Even though 98% of the people in my bar last night were pulling for the Giants, I was the only one with a Giants hat, beer hugger, and jersey. (#10 of course) They are still my second favorite team but I had to switch my primary allegiance to the Saints when Archie went there.

GO BIG BLUE!

Bill Simmons, a columnist for espn.com, has a theory that there are some star athletes, like Patrick Ewing, whose teams actually play better after they leave the team. Tiki Barber is now an example of this.

And the modern record for wins by a team in MLB was set by the Mariners the year after A-Rod bolted them....

And the Texas Rangers had one of their rare winning seasons after A-Rod left. The year after he leaves New York I am going to Vegas and putting a grand on the Yankees winning the World Series.

I was devastated after the Patriots lost, but I've gained some perspective in the last 24 hours and discovered a few bright spots:

1. The White Wonder Wes Welker (he lets me call him 4-Dub, because we're close like that) managed to pull out enough for me to win my fantasy playoffs league.

2. While I'm not all about the Strahan, I loved the sequined dress ad, he flies the diastema flag high and he sang along to the Anthem!

3. I can only imagine how chapped Tiki's ass is about now. I LOVE!!1 Ronde. Tiki, not so much.

Oh, and Jodin Sparks lip-synced the national anthem. We caught it on TiVo!
Darn! I know it has nothing to do with her singing ability, I heard her in person at Wednesday's charity event and she was awesome! Must be the heightened security or some other reason that they had her tape it in advance. They had Whitney Houston do the same for SB XXV during the Gulf War.

Did he really change...or did winning make people accept him?

I still have the image of him chewing out Tynes something fierce after he missed the second FG in the NFCCG.
All the stories I read midseason were about how he had vowed to be more of a nice guy, that he actually started listening to the team's leadership, he took the team out bowling, etc. Who knows if it's spin, but I can see it as being true.

Well if we are going to pick nits (and that is what we live for, isn't it?):

It's Yelberton ABRAHAM Tittle.

Since I need a post to keep from being bolded, I will admit that I was off on Y.A.'s technicalities and too lazy to confirm it before I typed it in. But back then, I figured he was history anyway once they got an Ole Miss guy on board.
Thanks for the help

Nice article. Does this mean we need to thank the Cowpokes for their contribution (13-3)? Hope this bodes well for your Texans when they finally make the playoffs, givin that your division is the toughest top-to-bottom.
