I still can't believe Blair Hull didn't win just based on the bus rides to Canada..... my favorite campaign ads since Dawn Clark Netsch....

Fanny's just way off base on that comparison. MBRS wasn't even sporting any cybernetic implants in that avatar! :P

Maybe you just can't see them.....

Now I want to register The Squirrel With A Great Rack.....

I'm assuming that cybernetic implants is the shit that was glued to her face.

There already is a squirrel with a great rack. ES' rack is blonde and wearing a tank top.....

And president, as it was pointed out on a Top Celebrity Scandals show. So SSS has Jeri Ryan to blame......

I may need to do an MBRS tribute to Jeri Ryan anyway..... or if I'm really daring, an Angel tribute....

Maybe there'll be another rainy day soon....

Jeri Ryan's "7 of 9" character was a Borg. 8)
That answers the question "What is Jeri Ryan?" That was not my question.

Don't bothering answering if it's going to strain your rump, though, because I really didn't care too much (and by 'too much', I mean not at all) in the first place.......
Well, I wasn't sure if you were seriously asking the question or not, since you already seemed to be familiar with the actress and the character she played.

But if you are serious (even at the same time saying you don't care, which is a perfectly snarky combination of poking a stick at me for not answering your question while admitting that taking the time to answer would be wasted), the Borg were a race of villains introduce in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Their bodies were extensively modified with cybernetic implants and individuals were essentially robotic drones serving the collective. They were feared for conquering other races and incorporating them into that collective, from which came their catch phrase, "Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated."

Jeri Ryan's character was rescued from the Borg and most of the nastier implants were removed, but some (like that eyebrow accessory) could not be.

OK, so now explain the avatar. Unless I missed a found it! somewhere.

There is no Found It for this one. I pulled it from the ES avatar lost and found as I was digging through my old files last night. It was an avatar I made last year that became moot and pointless before I had the chance to upload it...... so I saved it for a rainy day, which was today since I knew I wouldn't have a chance to make a new one this morning.....

lb13
I assumed it had something to do with that Jeri Ryan character that all the sci-fi geeks jerk off to, since the avatar looked like MBRS and the question mark were a stylized 7 and 9. I obviously think too much......
I would have assumed it was in response to all the shit going on in another thread had I not seen it earlier this morning. Of course, if that's the case, LB would have to use it at least 8-10 hrs per day.

I wasn't poking a stick, I was merely knocking yours away.

Knowing who Jeri Ryan is and seeing 45840540833 pictures of her in character, most of which had captions identifying her character, doesn't mean I know anything about the series. I didn't even know which one it was, since outside of two, maybe three episodes of the Shatner series, I've never seen any of the various movies and series that followed. The only Borg I know about is a Swedish tennis player who popularized sweat bands BITD.....

Asking a question but not really caring whether you know the answer or not isn't snarky (although if it's going to be seen as such, I'm pleased that I've done so perfectly, ha!), it just means that it will be something else to know, but I'm not actually curious enough to make someone expend effort just because they think I'm itching to know about it.

But, I did read your explanation and now I know. And it's actually semi-interesting (I take it that they are sort of a combination of the Terminator and Wolverine), especially the part about the show coining the "Resistance is futile" phrase. I thought it was a lot older than that.

So, we wasted neither the effort nor the lye!

They make a joke about that in one of the movies where the Enterprise travels back in time and has picked up a 20th century woman:

"Borg? Sounds Swedish."

[Then she sees a couple of them assaulting the ship.]

"Ahhhhhh! They're not Swedish!"

Ha, that's actually pretty funny. (It's the second part that makes it.....)
