Trust me, it's not what it's cracked up to be.

I grew up in a tiny New England town! Not on a farm, though, but there were a few down the street. I love New York City, and I expect to be here for my whole career, but I'd still sort of like to retire to an alpaca farm someday. Because when I'm 55, backbreaking labor is what I'll really want to do, right?
The farm has actually been an ongoing joke for a bunch of my friends. On rough days, we all joke about running away together and living on our farm in the middle of nowhere. I'm having alpacas, someone else wants chickens, a third friend is going to bring her tiny cocker spaniel to herd everything. . . .

Sadly, all the money (all of it that's left after taxes, anyway!) is going straight to student loans. The alpaca farm is more of a retirement plan, so look for me in rural New England, but not for another 30 years.

Would you consider a llama farm instead? We have a lot of llama experts around here.
Haha, I did get this reference! No, alpacas are much nicer.

Thanks! I wish I could spend them on something more fun, but this will be better in the long run. The sad part is that after taxes, it'll be barely a drop in the bucket! My loans were apparently, uh,
mismanaged.

If
this doesn't scare her away...

I really can't wait to see the shows of a few other people! There were about 10 of us taping that day, and we all had to get there early in the morning, then spent the whole day locked up together with nothing to do but talk. Some of them were really great people -- I'm curious about how everyone did!
It doesn't look like they're going to start showing the rest until after the holidays, right? My day of taping actually began with Jill Brim, whose episode aired on December 15, and they've gone right in order since then.
