No, I get it. In your world, people should never be let off the hook for any violation, for any reason.

No, you don't get it.....

There is no magic age upon which you are too old or senile to be wearing handcuffs when you screw up...... and that is the whole issue I had with your quote that started this little spat.... though it did get us another avatar for consideration this year....

If you're going to keep insisting that I don't get it, explain how your latest statement differs from the reply I quoted.

Although you seem to have defenestrated your original stated criterion that audience reaction figures into countdown consideration, no one could possibly appreciate this horrific phonied-up rendition of Mangy Rodents on a Plane.

If audience participation did not play a part in my decisions, Plasma Partner would have never even made the countdown last year.... and I can think of a couple of others this year that will only make it via the opinion poll factor.....

But maybe we can get the Director of Promos to take you up on that Squirrels on a Plane idea.....

If you're going to keep insisting that I don't get it, explain how your latest statement differs from the reply I quoted.

Your statement basically says laws should be enforced to the letter.... which I don't necessarily agree with....

My statement says that we don't look the other way when other people get hurt based on the sympathy factor (aka, someone's poor, dear, 89 year old grandma would NEVER do anything worth getting arrested for).....

Based on the circumstances you have pointed out to me 4237894733 times, maybe it didn't actually warrant any criminal charges.... BUT...... you didn't know that when you made that the original statement!!!!!!!!!! Therefore, I can only take that to mean that even if she callously let her dog out, based on her age and the obvious "outrage" it would cause, she shouldn't be run in......

Are we clear yet? :P

Apples and oranges, Marley. One has nothing to do with the other. The better comparison is that she takes her dog into a public place, not in a proper carrier but in a glorified purse (why is that people with those yip yip dogs think that they can tote them around anywhere, anyway? It's made for some stellar JJ episodes....), the dog escapes and bites at least two people.

Violations on an airplane are always treated more seriously than elsewhere, because they have the potential for more disastrous results.

And probably her advanced age is the reason that she was allowed to take the dog on board without him being in an FAA-approved carrier in the first place. (I think it's FAA, it's been a long time since I've seen an episode of Airline.)

Ha! I hadn't read any of this thread before and I thought that ES was going to the Auburn game with Kiki under the pseudonym Boy Howdy. I guess this explains why Sprots was on a plane to Arizona......

That's an even better backstory for this avatar than the real one.....

And no wonder Kiki's trip is so expensive.... how much does it cost to carry on a squirrel?

Thank you so much. Your exaggeration of the number of replies and your usage of numerous exclamation points make it so much clearer.

At the risk of being accused once more of rampant revisionism of my statements, even though I did not originally search for additional articles to clarify the situation, my initial impression when reading the OP was that the situation might not have been as outrageous as some others were reading it. I did not necessarily agree with the impression that the old lady had taken deliberate and callous actions that warranted legal action. My apologies if I did not spell out every nuance of what I was thinking in my original reply. If evidence had been brought forward that she had trained her little pooch to be an attack dog and had, in fact, released it with the intent of raising havoc, I would have withdrawn my suggestion.

I'll react with outrage like a good little member of the angry mob, from now on.

Sprots wasn't on a plane to Arizona.

Sprots wasn't on a plane.

I have been so busy getting my house put back together, I'm just catching up on threads.
I wondered where ES was going, however, it never entered my mind it might be the BSC bowl game. I knew that wasn't me in the seat in front of ES. Just saying..
