I'm so sorry Judy.

Hard to say if you were the best for her or if she was the best for you. Likely both.

Rest in peace, Annie. You will be missed. I hope you had a chance to teach Lisbit everything you needed to.

Many hugs to you, SC and to your family.

A fond farewell to my favorite dog I never met. And thanks to her mom for sharing her trials and triumphs over the years. The Bored will not be the same without her. Adieu, Annie.

Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

Oh dear. I just came to work and opened this. You've quite outdone yourself. My meeting will be difficult. Meet you in the ladies' Christie.

I deleted my post because I swore at ES in Annie's thread and MissAnnie had better manners than me.

But I still needed to go to the ladies room with a tissue for a couple of minutes.

I had to stop reading the Bored last night after opening this thread, because the screen got all blurry. Now, after reading ES's card, it's happening again.

Thank you 4 your beautiful picture, ES, and thank you for letting me be in the picture, 2. Thanks 2 everybody who said nice things about my big sis.

Annie told me so many things 2 remember in the last few days! My brain is crammed full of stuff. She gave me her laptop 4 my very own, though, so I hope I can put a bunch of it in there so I won't ever 4get. She also said I could use her food dish from now on, if I wanted it. I haven't decided yet. I always liked 2 eat food from her dish, but a lot of that was just 2 tease her. Annie was fun 2 tease.

When my mom came home yesterday, she was holding Annie's leash and collar, so I knew that meant my sister wouldn't need them any more. I took them, because they had a nice Annie smell, and put them in my bed. That helped me dream about her or get more eyelid messages, I'm not sure which. Anyway, it was a good idea.

Now I'm the big dog around here. That is an Mportant responsibility. I promised my sis I would do my best.

Oh, beautiful Annie, it is not your big eyes or graceful figure that made you so glorious, but your heart and keen mind. Those are what you shared with us, so in some ways, you will live forever in our memories even though we didn't meet you in person. Or dogson? Dog?

Anyway, you will be missed, but the best part of you will live on.

I shoulda read the rest of this thread after work. Now I have to go redo my makeup.

Annie sure touched a lot of lives. We'll all miss her, but we also all better off for having
had her in our lives.

If I may speak for myself for a moment, let me say that that was a beautiful tribute to Annie, SC.......

And I thought I would pull this from the archive. I think I have re-posted this before, but I thought it might be fitting, since you mentioned Annie's discovering of the internet and her joining out community, to have her very first post on the Bored put into her memorial thread.....

I have walked every day for the past five days. I only go in the front yard
now, because I've decided the back yard is scary. My mom's theory is that the
squirrels I've tormented for years now line up on the fence and yell "Neener-
neener." All in all, though, my mom says I've been a very good girl, and she
didn't have such an worried look on her face when she left for work today.

I came here to tell ya all that I have a new 'puter setup, catch up on stuff, play LS, and so on. Now, reading this...well, those things can wait. Tomorrow perhaps. I can't find the words, Judy, yet I will try. I will openly admit that I have a lump in my throat the size of a basketball. Every few posts on this thread someone says something or DRAWS something, and the lump gets bigger, the eyes more moist. You made us love her, with the many many posts..she took on such a larger than life persona. I don't think I was the only one that, every now and then, sorta forgot who was actually typing out those posts  But added to that was the very real, true life courage and bravery she displayed in her battles against injury and illness. What a heroic, magnificent dog! I think most of us felt that, in a sense, she belonged to ALL of us..which is why the sadness is going beyond the usual in this instance. I know I always wished that somehow I'd get to give her scritches in person someday.

Thank you thank you thank you for sharing her with us. We all feel your loss, perhaps more than you realize.

Quite the surprise to read this even if I am late getting to it. Last I remember reading Annie was back home and doing at least OK. But I have been on the board only intermittently the last few days.

I still periodically recall the loss of my first four footer friend, Tam o' Shanter "Tammy" Tanstaafl and that happened some 34 years ago. Those memories have returned again today.

So sorry for your loss, Judy.
